Yep, that’s it…that was the point of the post.
As a side note, were you aware that ImAFatAssfrick had game pass? If not, I’m sure he’ll let you know about it

Don't expect to get an intelligent response to that question. Dude really thinks he's on to something.

Don’t throw away the packaging. In a couple years the PS5 pro will fetch more on the secondary market than a Trinitron.
It's true. This might be what gets me to purchase a Playstation and just leave it in the box to wait for PS to stop selling them.

What on earth does this have to do with anything? Surely you are aware Nintendo is still making physical games. Right?

Yes. I never said every game is worth owning a physical copy. Oftentimes I play a game and decide I don't want a copy of it at all. In the past, one could go to Blockbuster/Hollywood Video/Redbox and rent a game to figure this out. Now, one can use Game Pass. This isn't the inconsistency you believe it to be.

the PS3 and Vita stores are also closing...
Just got an email from Sony clarifying this.
- No new purchases after July 2027.
- Will be able to downloaded already purchased content for the foreseeable future.

You have downs or something. Lets add another 45ms input and display lag to already laggy digital games.

Sure
It isn't at all relevant to this discussion, but I don't own any of those games on Switch.
However, this is why you look like an idiot for bringing that up (from your own link):
quote:
On the original Nintendo Switch, we saw plenty of games that were sold at retail with a box that contained a download code. The problem there was that you couldn’t lend it out to a friend or sell it later on. Since game-key cards do come with a cartridge, these issues have been eliminated.
It's still a physical release that can be re-sold, borrowed, etc. It's not at all what PS is doing here.

I'd bet money you won't be able to access these within 10 years of new purchases going offline.

This sucks.
I have a disc version because you can buy the discs on sale or used when the digital is full price.

This was inevitable. I don't know why people are so up in arms about this. You buy a disc from the store, you put it into your PS5, and the game has to install updates from the internet before you can play a single minute of it. That's where we stand in 2026.
I must admit...I'm consoled out. I made the switch to PC gaming this year because I saw where shite was going.

While this is true, it intentionally ignores all the other benefits of owning the disc even just a physical licensee redemption token.
You can sell or trade it, you can loan it to a friend, they can't permanently ban the game from your account after you redeem it, etc.

This is a truly epic melt.
Its funny to me as someone who has only bought digital games since the ps4 pro came out.

Sony is deleting 551 Studio Canal movies from PlayStation video libraries on September 1, 2026, due to an expired licensing deal. Affected users in the UK and select European regions will lose access to titles like Terminator 2, Total Recall, and Paddington. No refunds are being offered.
With them deleting movies from users libraries There is no way will I purchase next playstation or go digital only with Sony

There is absolutely 0 reason to choose Sony over Steam as a digital storefront.
Frequent deep sales
Extremely customer friendly return policies and support
Significantly larger library
No subscription cost for online
Mod-support
No hardware vendor lock in.
All that vs. playing the next middle age haggard lesbian simulator PS exclusive has queued up.

Microsoft already did the same thing. I don't buy digital movies but theres no chance they would do this with video games. Movies are a different animal

Exclusives and online multi-player.
PC is riddled with hackers still. Until they fix that it will never be as good a platform for FPS or ncaa football. I have to turn off cross-plat to play rainbow 6 siege
