Yeah, I did a thread on it a little while ago. Germans as frick
Samsung has supposedly identified the problem and are working on getting a fix validated. I have faith they'll fix it. Can't imagine any current Evo owner to ever trust them again if not.

Those theme decks are pretty awesome. I know the zap! deck came with a mewtwo, which is worth about $5 in mint condition.
I'm pretty excited for those. I've been looking for a few old school decks so my friends can play some.

If they were possible to find.... I would buy one before I bought the 980s even though I wouldn't have gsync. I want that more than 4K.

Honestly because I saw it in one of your builds you gave another guy, it seemed reasonable, and I thought it would help with compressing the videos for youtube.
If you don't intend to play PC games with it, you should put all of the GPU money back into the CPU and consider an i7, or scale the GPU back to something low-end that will give HD playback a boost during editing.
There are video editing programs that have GPU acceleration to make encoding go a lot faster, but you have to pay attention to what kind it uses. For example, if editing with premiere pro, you'd want an NVIDIA card for the mercury playback engine.

I Pre-Ordered from NewEgg, so it came in within 3days of launch. Now I sort of hate this TN, the colors are good, but just not what we are used to with our 1440 Korean IPS displays.
If a 4K/60hz/G-Sync monitor releases without a TN, belive that wll be my Main's primary monitor. Will be hard to not purchase 2 because I love everything the same and the utility screen is in portrait.
EDT: A cheap Samsung 4K/60hz/G-Sync is currently on the market, but reviews aren't great on the TN panel itself.

Does anyone on here think that maxing 1080 will require more than 2gb vram going forward? It's being listed as a requirement more often. I know some of it is bad ports but it has become a trend.

I was planning to build a computer pretty soon, and bought the i5-4690K/Mobo combo yesterday, but was wondering about the other components.
I hadn't picked out a video card yet, though was looking somewhat at the GTX 970. Any tips would be much appreciated.

Why are you running 1080? For your HTPC/SteamBox?
EDT: Joking, I can certainly see open world games needing more than 2048MB within the next 2 yrs.

Is the AIB of choice still EVGA for nvidia cards? I want to know which one I should be watching like a hawk.
Right now my eye is set on this one: LINK

Any good tower deals right now?

1440P is not that expensive -- under $300 for a monitor, unless you count the cost of video cards to chase after that last bit of performance. A single 770/280x is pretty good for 1440P, and a single 290 or better is perfect.

Are we talking Maxwell or Kepler? None thw less, some prefer AIB and others EVGA Percision X.
I prefer a nodded version of Precision X for nVidia but AIB for AMD.

I meant Add-in Board Partner -- EVGA, ASUS, MSI, Gigabyte, etc. There was a chart posted on OCN or some other forum a few years ago that showed the various warranties/policies of the different AIBs and declaring EVGA to be one of the best. I forget why, but I think it had to do with their policy about removing coolers.
As far as quality, I imagine all of these reference 980s are 100% identical though.

LMAO Sorry LSU
IMO, all I purchase is EVGA, they usually OC better, listen to their customers and have great customer support. The only other company I do like to use, and just for their flagship card, the MSI Lightning.

I've got email alerts set at nowinstock if any of the EVGA, MSI, or ASUS 980s are in stock. Not sure why I put ASUS into the mix, but I'm just getting impatient. I may end up getting a pair of 970s instead, but I'll have to verify the 670 block compatibility.
