I saw.
It was something I could get my hands on for little to nothing.

OK it's finally time, in a month or so I am replacing everything but my HDD and SSD and adding a 3TB HHD. One question would I be better crossfire with another 7950 or buying one of the newer vid cards?

If you already have the PSU to handle it and can find a 7950 on eBay (or from Bruce) for $200 or less, then adding a 7950 for crossfire would be the easiest and most economical way to go. Otherwise, you'd be spending more for a new single card, and even a 780 ti is beat by crossfire 7950s at stock. Then there is the hassle of selling the old card (which is the second largest reason i upgrade so infrequently).
Of course, the drawbacks are increased power consumption, added heat to your case, and the occasional issue of a game not supporting multiple gpus correctly. AMD has stepped up their game with driver support lately though. Hell, titanfall didn't have SLI or Crossfire support at launch, and surprisingly AMD was the first to release a working driver to fix it.
I've been using crossfire 7970s for over a year now, gaming at 1440p, and the hardware addiction has given me the itch to upgrade, but there is just no point. It would be incredibly expensive to buy two new-gen cards, and there is no single-Gpu card that can even touch the xfire 7970s. And honestly, the 7950's performance is not too far off from the 7970.
However, If you are ok with spending more to try one of the next-gen cards, a single 780 or 290, while not as powerful as xfire 7950s, would be more than enough for 1080p or even 1440p+, where they really shine.

I love LEDs too
I must confess that I do too. I'm the one that looks at it and I like the lights.

Dude, I hate you guys.
VABuck, I might want one of those 680 Classys. Would be a great starting card to try and burn up.

My buddy is going to buy some parts for his PC. Wanted me to find out if all these would be compatible/worthwhile to purchase with his current video card:
