If you already have the PSU to handle it and can find a 7950 on eBay (or from Bruce) for $200 or less, then adding a 7950 for crossfire would be the easiest and most economical way to go. Otherwise, you'd be spending more for a new single card, and even a 780 ti is beat by crossfire 7950s at stock.

IDK man, look at 3DMark results. Pretty damn close with TIs winning at stock and OCs.

I agree, would cost more than buying a 2nd 7950. Then again, i'm all for a 1 card solution which beats 2 cards solutions nearly everytime, stock or OC.

Coyote and Devious:

I also have the Classified water blocks for both of them.

We can take it offline if you'd like. Bill@ccillcva.com

I'm looking for a tiny enclosure to build a PFSense router with a spare 1155 iTX and Celeron.

Tons of tiny iTX cases I like are out there but none have an expansion slot for my 2way Intel NIC to fit. Might end up just purchasing a NUC with 2xIntel NICs on board.

I've thought about doing it too. Actually, I was going to run a freeNAS/PfSense set up, but haven't really felt like putting the effort into it.

I have FreeNAS in a VM on my HS and it works great. My ASUS AC66U router has been making me nervous with all the reported security issues. Yes I could flash Tomato or something but it gave me trouble during the set up, so just gave up.

Run DD-WRT. I've been running it for years, and have never had a problem.

Bruce your shtt is still coming, you just need to deal with my shaddy-ness sometimes. I'm random... but will follow through in the end.

Found this but want to use a Celeron/Pentinum/i3 in the build, not that shtt CPU.

That's not bad at all. Aren't the Atoms soldered to the motherboard, though?

Yeah, the 780 Ti or 290x would be the highly preferable upgrade option, just expensive. I'm waiting for a 1-GPU solution to beat my two 7970s by at least 50% before I'm ready to upgrade.

Almost had a XFX 290x for $330 on ebay before somebody sniped it at the last minute for 335. Sad face.

I know its not single GPU, but the 295x2 is well over 50% better

1 card solutions are so nice. I remember running my single 780 Lightning last year while upgrading the main rig and noticing that slight stutter which comes with SLi/CFx being totally removed. The experienced felt almost smoother at times compared to the old TITAN set up before getting TIs.
