This is awesome.

It's for the upcoming z97 boards for the Haswell refresh, which is apparently going to support past Haswell models too.

Ridiculous vendors need correct the mistakes Intel made with TIM. EK offered the shortened studs for bare chips, but its not universal like MSI's solution.

Yep, exactly. Unfortunately, MSI isn't going to offer just the bracket. Some guys on OCN e-mailed them to see if they were going to release the bracket separately so that they could use them on their z87 boards. MSI told them that it's going to be pretty much exclusive to that board.

Figures. That's their expensive flagship brand, which I'd never even consider purchasing for a non-E platform.

My chip is average or slightly above average. It's at 4.7 ghz and 1.32v. I pushed the ring to 4.4 and made adjustments to input voltages and maxed out all the power limits, which adds some heat. I never really spent the time to test all of those other voltages individually to hone them since I wasn't worried. May not even be necessary now that I'm using two DIMM slots instead of all 4. Everything is connected, and every adjustment affects heat and stability.

Don't know exactly what my temps were (at the hospital at the moment), but I do remember that delidding reduced it by a good 20+ degrees. And even then, depending on the test, temps were still on the high side for a watercooled chip. I think maybe the 70s+ for the more extreme tests, and high 50s/low 60s for AIDA and prime blend.

I'm at 4.6 with 1.225v. Temp on Aida was about 76 (core average). Im going to work with it a little tonight to try and push it more
