Stout,

I have a 2 year old house with some settling issues still. Most of it is crown molding that separates at the joints when the temperature changes drastically. I have has a few sheet rock cracks that haven't changed in a long time. Recently I had a sheet rock crack that's been there for a while that got bigger when we had snow/ice then back up to 70's. It was about 2 inches and now about a foot long. How urgent is this?

I know these happen a few years after you build, this one just popped up so quick that I was curious about it. I hate fixing shite in this house because I'm ready to sell it though

once it start peeling is when you will have a big problem, so if you start now it can mean less work for you in the future

I met a guy that worked on my house a couple of years ago and he was great. He layed the tiles in my kitchen and said he did other stuff too so I left him a message. hopefully, he will do this too but I don't know what all he does. I just know he was good at his job and cared about things coming out well.

Anyways, I would rather hire some cheap mexicans who have a general idea of what's going on, instead of hiring a some over priced lazy arse white people who don't give a frick.

I fix the things in/on my house though, because I'm a fricking man.

thats the problem, i can tell somebody how to fix the problem, so that they have a general idea. The level of work is shitty, and they are still bossed around by that lazy arse white person who dont give a frick

Apparently you do not know how to hire a good contractor, sorry for that. Also, i dont know how this involves stout, or even why you brought him into this lol.

Finally im glad your a Man, and unless you are rewiring your whole house, i dont know why a fricking man would need to hire someone, especially a lazy arse white person.

Because I have been a state licensed contractor for going on 12 years now and a lot of people in this thread know that. I have hired Mexicans and I will tell you that there are trades out there that they do way better work than the average American can. Sheetrock, painting, framing, and roofing being the most common.

Do you have some lazy ones? Sure but overall they work longer, faster, and better than most Americans when it comes to labor jobs Americans want to do. Many of them are coming from shite and want a better life and will do what it takes to get there.

What you are speaking is pure hyperbole and generalizations.

I understand saying this for simple projects but being a contractor is like any other profession in that someone that does it on a daily basis and has encountered and corrected tons of problems while doing so will know more about it than Joe Handyman. It's just how it is.

I have fixed too many home owner mistakes on things like an addition and them not understaing how to tie into the existing roof, or not stripping their old roof with 1x4s before installing a metal roof thus causing moisture issues, etc to let me think otherwise.
