Are they unlocked at 1.3mV out the box? I think so. That is more than my 1.275, and that is with custom VBIOS and LLC hack.

Can anyone spare some time to enlighten my dumb arse about NIC adapters?
I've done about as much research as I can understand. Weighing the options and making a good decision about upgrading my DW1501 is above my computer ability level.

Router is about 38.2 ft away from the desktop. Through the sides of each's desk cabinet but no home walls.
With the AC wireless networking coming out, it may be a good topic to discuss.
From what I've read, one port still only gets 450 Mbps. However, some of them utilize two or three ports/antennas to theoretically push the rate to 1300+.
Is that transfer rate even necessary with a 25 down/ 5 up ISP limit?
Is the distance too far to utilize the 5 Ghz range, or is it better to stay at 2.4?
Would it be as easy as:
1) downloading the new driver
2) taking out the current card and putting the new one in
3) installing the downloaded driver?
Is it advisable to just upgrade to get access to the 5Ghz range or go all the way to a full, 3-antenna AC adapter?
So many questions, but I'm having trouble finding internet answers. I'm hoping TD's experts can provide some insight.

Not any pc hardware unless you need something.

Its things that I will never use because I always buy new again when WC'ing any of my builds. So, just looking to unload them. I need more space.
I sold a lot of hardware in the past 2 months also, but still have a few parts if you need something. Also have basically a brand new Fractal Node 604 if you are looking for a media center build. It fits a full size ATX board and PSU.

Im about to pull the trigger on a Q87 and XEON E32113. Why the Q87 instead of Z87, well the Q87 is designed for business so it comes with a few cool Intel vPro technologies like remote access OUTSIDE of OS and software. A few extra server features which are awesome for a home server.

Damn, oh well. Was looking for a mATX MOBO.
Just purchased this ASUS Q87 mATX 1150 for the home server. Will just put it in my unused Fractal Arc Mini case. Thing is wisper quiet.
Also purchased a Haswell i3 4330 for the CPU. I liked a lot of the features and the cool 54W WITHOUT having to use a dedicated GPU if i've purchased the XEON E3-2113.
EDT: For any "work load" and the "heavy lifting", i'll use my 8320 for some handbrake and compression. The thing isnt my 4930K, but that rig is strictly for gaming and fun.

Taking back this statement.
Listed my 8320 on Amazon for the point of, why? I won't ever use it. Im fooling myself if I ever think ill compress any on my DL'd media.
If anyone is interested, ill make a better deal for you.

For gamers and power users, all Intel sockets are dead at launch really, because there is no worthwhile upgrade path with the CPU. What stout really means to say is that he wants something better.

Did you guys know if you hold down the "XBOX" button on your 360 controllers, Steam goes into big picture mode.
Awesome feature, I always had to manually put it in BP. Now you can just put the steam EXE in startup and never touch the keyboard/mouse when on your HTPC/SteamBox.
