That's the biggest issue here -- that video card choice. If gaming were the ultimate goal here, I'd keep my current monitor and put everything I could into the GPU and PSU. But that's because I care about visual quality. HBAO, MSAA, etc. I can take it or leave it, but to achieve 90-120fps with that 760 is going to mean turning down other things such as texture details, terrain, AF, and other things that I personally consider essential. So my advice comes with a little bit of bias.
The mining frenzy is fricking things up for gamers looking to upgrade at the moment.

hey fellas.
can someone like me to that reddit subsite where you go thru and pick a few base components then it helps you pick out the rest and gives you a price total?
there's a chick i work with who's b/f is wanting to build his own pc, but doesn't know what he's doing and was thinking of just ordering parts at random.

Anyone on here have any spare parts they are looking to part with?
I'm looking to build my sister a rig so she can game with her boyfriend. Don't need anything fancy. Just wanting to put together something entry level.
Hollar at me with a price if ya got anything

I believe almost everyone here has a ton of spare parts.
I have a few MOBOs, RAM, PSU, CPU/APUs, GPUs, CASEs, WC parts which I'll all be interested in almost giving away. What do you need?

Got any spare modular/semi-modular PSUs laying around? As much as I love my current one. Trying to cable manage with a bunch of unused wires is a pain in the arse

I have a full modular PSU on the cheap. It is a 850W OCZ.

I have enough spare parts to build another rig or three minus video cards.

lol same. I usually sell my GPUs because they are the first thing which becomes outdated.
I'm down to just these 3x780TIs in my main, a 650Ti and a 760 I just ordered yesterday. Really wanted a 290 Powercooler to unlock but they are no where to be found until this LTC mining mania ends. Sounds my fckking MSI TFIII 7950 on Amazon for $499.99. It went so quick I feel like I didn't ask enough.

Stout i'm looking for some cool fonts for creating my Twitch logo in Illustrator.
I want a clean and modern looking font. Can have a sense of playful such as Apple's font but needs to be sharp, straight and clean lines.

But a 7870 isn't going for much still or have those prices raised too?
Posted on 12/10/13 at 7:11 am to Mr Gardoki
Oh IDK, I have't checked.
7870 Tahiti I seen were going for around 350-400.

I feel like mine should go for good value at this point
eta: They are almost sold out of all 7870's below $200. I may give it a couple of days to sell out then sell mine.

7950 on Amazon for $499.99
I just don't understand the stupidity. The 7950 is a desirable mining car and was the first to sell out, ONLY because of its hashrate/dollar. It can do 600+ Khash for $200 or whatever it was selling for before the frenzy, while the 7970 would do 700+ in the $250-300 range. But someone paid you $500 at the same time I bought a 280x for $300, which does 720kh right out of the box.
I'm about to cash out $300 of my earnings just to replace what I spent on the 280x, so if for whatever reason BTC plummets to $5 tomorrow, I'll have broken even and earned a free 280x.
ETA: Looks like I bought my 280x just in time. Newegg is price-gouging now. 280x went from $300 to $375-400, and the 290 is now $500, and the 290x is $600+.
