No, the wallet is separate from the pool. You don't even need to enter payment info yet. It should just be mining.

You could try using CGminer. It's a little more complicated but if you get on Skype I could help you out.

Well obviously there is always a bottleneck of some sort.

However, all I'm saying is that even if the PCI-e channels are the bottleneck, they don't appear to be a significant enough of a bottleneck to matter much. Also being 3.0 helps out quite a bit. And, like you said, 1 or even 2 290s are more than enough for just about anything (although if I decided to go three-monitor setup we shall see if that is still the case).

Honestly I'm pretty bullish long-term. Bitcoin has done the same thing where it bubbles up and then has a pop, consolidates, and then bubbles up again. Just remember how little-known these are on a global scale and how much more exposure they can really get.

However, that is also why I decided to primarily mine litecoin as opposed to bitcoin. If these things decide to drop off and be worthless at least we can play really pretty games with our high-end GPUs and also re-sell them to recoup a good bit of the costs. Those with thousands of dollars into ASIC rigs for bitcoins are kind of screwed.

Watching the current Wootoff, then this abomination came up: LINK

I love that it's a "gaming desktop", with a 4770k and a GTX 660.

Would my 850 PSU run two 280Xs and my 7970?

I might go ahead and order a better PSU. Just wanting to use the 3 cards for mining and game on one GPU from time to time. I could always put the 7970 in a spare set up but the one I have now only has a CX430M in it (430 watts). If I did move it I would go ahead and get another PSU big enough to add a 280X in crossfire to it eventually.

Gaming on the 3 cards you could fit 850, but mining on 2, 850 won't. 1000w will be perfect

That's what I figured. I will just move the 7970 and eventually add a 280X with it as originally planned. I will have 3 rigs running crossfire and all mining at the same time very soon.

Damn that's crazy. I'm looking to trade my 3rd 780 for another 7970 or 280x on reddit. Then I'm going to find a cheap AMD platform to mine it on. I'm going to stick the PC in my parents house so I can avoid electricity bills

Ha...thinking about putting two of them in my office I rent so the electricity is a tax write off and so my house doesn't feel like it's the middle of August.

Don't need it. Just going to run two cards in each set up. Need two 750w for crossfire.
