You can always just buy one and gouge people on ebay if it's not unlockable. The 7970s on ebay are all nearing $400+ now for Buy-it-Now. All the auctions are at over $300. Some trying to sell them for $500+. A fricking 7970.

I am looking to buy a 7970 to mine with a third one. Not paying those ebay prices though. I'm also looking for 280X's to see if any respectable retailer has any left. SO far, none.
Too bad I didn't grab Blue's 7970 when he was offering it for cheap.

What are your settings for a single 7970? I can't go past 10 on mine without it getting too hot after a while.

My GUIminer settings? I just have it set to high usage. I don't know/don't care what my temps on it are

Watch VRM temps when mining if GPU-Z will show it. They can hit 100-110 on air depending on your voltage/OC.
Have you checked your hashrate at different intensity levels? I get the best hashrate at level 13. The best part about that is I can still use my computer for pretty much everything but gaming (and HD streaming probably, but I havent tried). Not that it matters in your case. What's your current hashrate that GUI miner reports?

I'm getting 725 with 1060 core and 1750 mem. I was getting 680-700 with 1500 mem. Intensity 13. The 7970s with the factory overclock are different, they don't play by the typical rules.
