That's an inflated hash rate the pool reports based on shares over time. My GUI miner hash rate is roughly 730khash/s.
Unfortunately, my settings won't help. The 7970s that have a modified bios (i.e. OC/GHz editions) have a weird quirk, where hash rate plummets at random settings for reasons I can't explain.
Universally, it appears that the default "7970 (low)" settings are the best. Any other intensity level and the hash rate goes down.
But then, you have to hone clock speeds.
My first card performs best with 1045/1750, giving me 730khash. But it also performs well with 1500 mem (700khash). If I set mem to 1501, hash rate plummets to 475. If I overclock the core to my usual gaming OC, hash rate goes down as well.
So you are going to need to experiment with random core/mem combinations. I would start with the 1045/1500 combo since you are on air, and your card is the same as mine.

I can't control my clocks

It works regardless, your just trying to find the most efficient clocks?

I know, I've been mining for a little over 12 hours. I just want a higher hash.

It was more of a question
but you answered it.
Eta: real question is how much money could I make in a day doing this with my 7870?

An ocn tutorial says to use lit coin wallet, does it matter which program I use?
Posted on 11/28/13 at 1:29 pm to Mr Gardoki
The 7870, from what I've skimmed on forums, does 350-400khash. So a single 7870, mining 24/7, Would make $12.75 ish a day if you can get 400khash, and assuming LTC doesn't go down too much.

Litecoin wallet is where you keep your litecoins, not what you use to mine or pool. If I'm not mistaken

I keep getting "connection problems" with GUIMiner. Help?

Are you using hypernova pool? If so, which server? And did you create a worker?
Posted on 11/28/13 at 2:26 pm to ILikeLSUToo
Dallas server and yes on the worker. Now it is hung on connecting.
So can you create a miner to work your GPU and CPU separately? Looks like it but I bet that would be a strain on a system.

Yeah, don't bother with CPU. An 8350 will get like 60Khash/s. Intel CPUs don't do much better. The fastest hashrate appears to go to a 200W Xeon, with a whopping 130khash/s.

Your username correct? It should be poolusername.workername.
For example, mine is stephenp85.worker1 for my first card. And the password is your worker password.

Could you post a screenshot of your GUIminer or skype it to me
