Ok. So my disk arrived today. Looks great
Should I be worried about my parts getting too hot? I was looking forward to getting it off the carpet but I don't wanna frick it up.

You shouldn't need to worry about it. Looks like there's some space to breathe.

Good. The desk is really nice . The PC didnt fit but we just took out the middle part and that took care of it. Of course now the right side is wobbly but it still is quite nice. Not to mention all dat table space.

If I ever decide to put some money into my desk and such, I want to order a big arse gallant desk from ikea, or get a big L-shaped desk

Nice setup blue. I will try portrait mode for my secondary monitor also. Love the fractal case!
As for a desk, I have a L shaped executive from Office Depot. Total was only around 700 for the set up.

Its the new r2 version that cane out in march. I love it.

The Lite Edition will still be around 800. Think it is a little silly since 200 more bucks you get the real thing. If you are spending that type of cash.. 200 won't break you.

so what utility is everyone using to OC their 7970. I have been using afterburner but it caps the core clock at 1125 and mem clock at 1575. I have hit both with my powercolor with 1.2v with temps of 72. my 3dmark score is 900 points higher than with my 670. 10305.

when i tried to change to cfg file I got access denied. Ran notepad as admin and was able to open the unlocked mode, but my computer did not like that one bit. Had serious artifacts just moving the mouse around. I guess I need to use a different utility. Suggestions?

Make sure you have the latest version of Afterburner. In the later version, now you can enable unofficial overclocking within the GUI. Click Settings, and look at the bottom for AMD Compatibility Properties. There you can enable unofficial overclocking mode with or without PowerPlay Support.

Have you guys ever had to adjust your cores for your processor? I am reading about micro stuttering for AC: Revelations and a lot of people had this problem and said their cpu was defaulted to 1 core and they had to enable the others.

Yes.. all cores enabled on all my machines.
