ive got the same card. make sure you have updated to the newest drivers available. if that doesnt fix it, underclock and under power the card by about 5%.
if that doesnt fix it, RMA. its a known issue with that card and 2D applications. mine caused web browsers to flicker.

i see you fixed that issue with a cpu fix. thats interesting since its so similar to the other 2D issues that specific card was having.

It played Dust superb until the very very very last "episode" .. and then only dropped in frame rate when there was a lot of processing going on.. So I'm wondering if this is the same problem? I have the most up to date drivers and have never seen this issue except for at this one point (last 3% of the game btw).
how could I test this? Also, how do I underclock the card and power by 5% exactly? I just don't know if RMA'ing this card when THIS is the only problem.. and it's like .000005% of the time, is the right response, but underclocking also seems extreme for such a small percentage of games I"ll be playing.

I actually never fixed it, I finished Dust 5 days ago and proceeded to uninstall it and will never play it again. I just played through it, and beat it, we are seriously talking the last 15 - 20 minutes of the game had a frame rate problem, I just pushed through it and finished it.
Been playing Tomb Raider, Deux Ex, and Dishonored on Max settings since then.. just figured it was some weird glitch and didn't think about it til now.
ETA: I just knew my 10,000th post would suck.. glad it happened in this thread though!

nah, not my posting style. On topic for jcole:
I did some research on the black flicker thing.. not the same thing at all, the game literally had a frame rate drop, there wasn't any flickers or anything like that - the frame rate just dropped, almost like something (on further study.. probably my i5) was being overworked.
I have never seen a frame rate drop since, so I think I'm good. (and I surf the web all the time on this computer as well)

I'm thinking I'll probably be done Borderlands by around 9 or 10, maybe sooner, and then I can go as long as everyone else wants.
