I'm on my phone anyway. I may leave my benching oc on fixed since I won't run it on that. I may not even use my oc for anything other than benching since I get no performance gain.

Tea, rem to start saving your profiles for different situations.
Posted on 8/11/13 at 9:15 am to LSU Coyote
I have 3 profiles saved for that reason.

I'm benching my AMD rig now.. does anyone with AMD CPU/GPU combos want to bench today so we can compare?
My AMD combo is 8320/MSI TFIII 7950.

What should I sell this set up for?
Thinking about putting it on Craigslist and taking $350 for it. Someone could play some LoL at 60 FPS or any games on medium on it.
I know that the PSU is especially shitty but I had it laying around and it works.

I can hook up this 7870 myst to the 4100 I got from you and bench that set up.

Just throw +100 on the core and you should bump near 13k.
I'm not familiar with nVidia's temperature thresholds, but he was hitting 80C while running 3dmark11. His cooler is one of those single fan reference coolers, and his fan profile was probably auto. We didn't mess with GPU OCs last night. I just got his haswell safely to 4.2 @ 1.15v.

I know someone who would pay 350 for that bruh. They live in the bluff and are interested in getting into pc gaming.

For real? I can send you pics of it. The mobo is missing the I/O shield but other than that it's all good. I am updating Windows on it now and downloading Saints Row 3 and Prime95 to test it out.
Going to set up MSI Afterburner on it as well.
ETA for a lkttle more I will put a Sapphire 7870GHz in it.

Word, I'll email you in a little while after I talk to him.

Yea, the refernece blower. Did he fix the fan controller to 100%?
It will start throttling @ 72C with GPU Boost 2.0.. soo that could have accounted for the lower score. My suggestion with a GK110 chip would be to TOTALLY remove GPU Boost and flash a modded BIOS, but that is for another day.
Never the less, lock the fan controller to 100% and make sure temps stay below 72, because it will then start throttling back. You have A TON of headroom to play with that GK110. I got +310 on core with a single Titan, so his 780 wont be too far behind/ahead of that.

I just read this a few minutes ago where someone was having the same issue. FPS loss at the 80C mark, and nvidia default fan profiles focus on quiet rather than performance.
I have a feeling 100% fan on that cooler is going to be fricking loud. I don't think there is any headroom if it requires that sort of fan profile.
Maybe there's an affordable air cooler out there for it that can run quieter and keep things under 70. Given the current cooling performance, and my experience with the noise of reference coolers, it might be worth the investment to just get a good cooler for it.
I swear, I don't think I'll air cool my GPU/CPU ever again.
EDIT: This cooler is $75 but looks to be a great performer. LINK

I just ran everything and all of the components check out. Pushing just under 5K on 3D Mark and runs Saints Row 3 on high with no problems so it should be good to go.
If he wants that 7870GHz I have I can install it for a little more.
Just email me and let me know whats up when you get a chance. If he doesn't want it I will just put it on Craigslist or Ft Polk Bookoo.

I think we are on different pages.. sorry if I misunderstood you.
Yes, the blowers are loud on anything above 50%.. I was just talking about benching.
Saying that, GPU Boost from nVidia has a thermal threshold @ 72C. Once you reach 72C the card will start throttling (down clocking) itself. Just maybe walk him through the chart for a custom fan curve. Custom fan curves arent too bad and that cooler on the the Titan/780/690 is better than most. A decent custom curve will keep it relatively quiet while keeping performance up.

Those Artics are suppose to be legit, but damn they are awful looking.

I just realized that my Titans haven't been in SLi for about 2weeks. After updating to the latest BETA drivers I never went back into nVidia control panel to Enable SLi.
Can't tell you you how many times that has happened.
Posted on 8/11/13 at 2:39 pm to LSU Coyote
I bet you were wondering why your gaming experience had been incredible rather than ridiculous for the past 2 weeks.

I have an Arctic. I put it on that 7870 Myst I bought that had a broken fan
LINK
It's very cheaply made. Very cheap. The plastic housing with the fans just pressure clips onto the radiator. Break a clip by accident and you are fricked.
I think the after market Zalman coolers look way better and look way more sturdy.
ETA: Just saw you are talking about cooling the Titans. Nevermind on the Zalman.
