Just click on "more" in the description. Steve always puts timestamps
quote:

This video covers Intel's terrible responses and what we believe are misleading, slimy, and shady actions in relation to its 13th & 14th Gen defects. The video contains a full timeline of events for Intel's colossal failures while also recapping its latest #INTC Earnings call from August 1, 2024. These defects include impact of voltage, such as high VID, on CPU longevity and degradation, plus the prior oxidation concerns.

TIMESTAMPS

So you’re saying the kid on wall street bets that put Grammys 700k inheritance into Intel on Thursday is fricked? He’s lost 20% last I checked.

I’m just amazed at how long this thread has been going. Over 11 years and still going strong looks like

Speaking of, reviews for the 9700x that came out today are less than exciting…

Apparently the chips a lot of reviewers had might have been defective because performance results have apparently varied by a lot of reviewers.

While they've varied a bit, they have topped out at "meh" at best and "awful value" at worst, at least from what I've seen. I really hope AMD hasn't gotten complacent with their CPU division.

Assuming this is true, how in the absolute frick did AMD not figure this out during development and testing…

AMD Ryzen gaming performance may be affected by a Windows bug

I thought everyone used admin, or fresh installed windows/chipset drivers for provisioning a new CPU install. Gotta be a very small amount that do none of those.

Explains the reviews having different gaming test scores.

Updated chipset? Sure.

But you thought everyone either reinstalled windows from scratch every time they installed a CPU and/or used the hidden by default super admin account in Windows instead of the default local admin account?

Yes who doesn't use elevated privileges? Or clean install windows or clean install chipset drivers?

Pretty common sense for 2 of those.

Big nothing burger though you bored?

Side note has there been an AMD CPU launch without some windows specific issue?

Again, clean install of the chipset? Sure.

As for the other two, sometimes I think you dig in on absurdities just to troll. Or you’re on the spectrum. But regardless, I have a hard time taking the majority of your posts at face value these days.

I would suggest that you simply ignore my posts and let the rest of us have reasonable conversations regarding gaming tech, but I appreciate that your personal financial stake in AMD’s successes and failures means you likely can’t help yourself from having irrationally strong reactions to the subject matter

Yes I agree ignore each others. I'll let you reply to yourself a week later instead.

Josh - are you going to do a separate thread when you do your mythical 4k gaming build?

Not that I am going to leech off your research (which is what I'm going to be doing, of course), but it might be interesting to shadow along, perhaps at a lower budget tier.

I only ask because it has been about 8 years since I did a new build. (Is LSU Coyote still a going concern around here?) And, at least conceptually, we will be broadly pursuing the same goals for the build - at least the key components of CPU, MB, GPU, monitor.
