You can probably get $450-$500 for the 3080, so this would cost $100-$150. Not sure it would be worth the trouble to me. Would probably still wait either for prices to fall further for this gen or wait until next gen. Just don’t think the 6950xt will be able to push 4k/144hz going forward, so you’re going to want to upgrade sooner than you would think.

When considering generation over generation performance and pricing, I'd still like to see it get down to $700, but I think it's become an interesting card at $750. I still think this generation (thus far) from both companies is a skip for anyone with a relatively high end card from last gen, but if someone is set on a new build right now, I would have no issue pushing them towards a $750 7900xt.

I hadn't previously posted anything about it because it wasn't confirmed and I couldn't remember anyone on here having a Zen 4 CPU, but now that it's confirmed with a fix, just a heads up that if anyone has a Ryzen 7000 CPU, you should update your BIOS asap to avoid potential voltage damage:

Looks like Mindfactory is reflecting roughly what was expected over the last two weeks. Sales of the 4070 held, and actually surged a bit, last week. Now this week it's still in the lead but starting to sag. Hopefully we start seeing some more aggressive price jockeying from both sides in the coming weeks/months.

Yeah I don't think just cutting supply is going to work for Nvidia. 
ETA: those are super low week 2 sale numbers for a new release, normally over 1,000 a week on mindfactory for new gpu's. The fact that it can't even muster 500 sales in just it's 2nd week is just more proof people aren't buying.
Keep holding the good fight lads. It will work before long.

ETA because I missed this the first time through: Week 2 is actually the 695 number. Week 1 sales were posted a while back. Just fyi.
If I had to guess, it's due to the odd bit of cannibalization we're seeing from the 4070ti. Sales for the 4070ti had tanked, like, double digit sales in a week tanked. Since the 4070's release, sales for the 4070ti have surged significantly. I think a lot of people held off from buying the 4070ti, planning to buy a 4070 for cheaper. Then, once it was released, they shifted back to the 4070ti for the reason a lot of reviewers have been whining about: the performance gap between them is fricking huge. So people are moving back up market for the extra performance they didn't think they would have to give up if they bought a 4070.
I was watching... I think Jayztwocents? in the last few days, and he articulated the specifics of something I've brought up a few times, which is the massive gaps in performance in the RTX 4000 series lineup that simply didn't exist in the 3000 series. More specifically, he pointed out that the gap in performance between the 4070 and the 4070ti, which he said was about 25%, is roughly the same as the gap in performance between the 3070 and the 3090. That's fricking obscene, and it speaks to the artificial segmentation Nvidia is forcing this generation, both by shifting down in die per segment and artificially limiting power limits.
I'm hoping that once AMD clears through the 6000 series inventory it's clearly trying to move, it shifts to really pressing for mind and marketshare for the 7000 series.

Yeah not clearing 1K is rough. Under 500 now is brutal.
And that's with no competition from AMD since outside the US doesn't get the discounts.
So it's selling that poorly vs full priced AMD cards on Mindfactory.
The bad part about AMD going large discounts is you can't track them anymore. Oh well, worth.

Yup. It's something I see people get pretty salty about on Reddit sometimes. This cycle has also been a bit weird, because unlike historically where the US has the best prices, period, we've seen some odd sales, like the 4070 getting a 15% reduction in, what was it, fricking Poland?

A bit hyperbolic, but not much. Per that chart (to save us all some effort), the percentage shifts in raw addition are:
3070 to 3070ti - 5%
3070 to 3080 - 21%
3070 to 3090 - 33%
By comparison:
4070 to 4070ti = 21%
4070 to 4080 = 46%
4070 to 4090 = 71%
That’s a pretty stark difference.

If I was going to put a computer in a room with a pretty high ambient temp, let's say 85F, would an nh-d14 or a nice CLC give the best performance? Would it really matter
