DX9 games are my jam. I play mainly the sims3, older bethesda titles and such.

I've also never played HL.

Lots of older games I do tho.

I've never had any luck any luck on waiting on AMD GPU's. Vega was decent and I didn't wait along with rdna 1 and 2.

Any people waiting on AMD should be happy.

I'm bad luck.

Yeah those types of technologies aren't interesting enough to me to read up on until basically release.

I'll check out FSR3 come GDC time.

I'm guessing summer?

I know AMD is recing 60fps for FG. But although, honestly it ain't that bad. DLSS 3 @ 30 fps looks good on the screen, but it feels bad. That's with a 60fps frame counter. 30 real frames with 30 fake ones.

Get the frame rate up to 40 and it feels decent.

I don't put much stock in Mindfactory sales numbers because of their relatively low volume, which means their sales numbers are heavily influenced by current discounts they are running because prices tend to be higher across the board in Europe. But, because it's all we've got, and because it's a fan favorite on this thread, these are the sales numbers from last week. Should be an update in the next few days:

The 4070 is selling annoyingly well, though I would expect that number to maybe hold relatively firm next week and then start to sag heavily. And at that point, hopefully we start seeing some price competition across both companies.

Right on queue. That didn't take long, one week.

Nvidia reportedly cutting supply on slow selling RTX 4070 GPU

quote:

The implication is that the RTX 4070 hasn't been selling as well as expected, certainly not in comparison to the increased production the green team put in place for this launch, and so there's a glut of unsold cards at retailers. So Nvidia is therefore cutting supply to help prop prices up.

Certainly the RTX 4070 has been widely available since launch. In the last few days several cards have appeared at retailers around the world at well below Nvidia's recommended retail price.

That’s unfortunate. I would rather see them cut the price like AMD did when the 7900XT wasn’t selling as expected. Hopefully they get to that point soon.

$600 6950xt on Newegg

If anyone is eyeing a mid range build at the moment, that deal would be my suggestion. That's some serious hardware for $600.

I just bought a Titan X pascal for some reason

Was scrolling though ebay for a cheap card to throw into my new HTPC and came across it for $130... Seemed like a deal

I’m currently in court waiting for a matter to be called up, so I can’t watch the video, but I’ll be curious to watch this later for context

Hell I’m half tempted to sell my 3080FE and get one. Need some extra beef for my 4k/144hz monitor

You can probably get $450-$500 for the 3080, so this would cost $100-$150. Not sure it would be worth the trouble to me. Would probably still wait either for prices to fall further for this gen or wait until next gen. Just don’t think the 6950xt will be able to push 4k/144hz going forward, so you’re going to want to upgrade sooner than you would think.

When considering generation over generation performance and pricing, I'd still like to see it get down to $700, but I think it's become an interesting card at $750. I still think this generation (thus far) from both companies is a skip for anyone with a relatively high end card from last gen, but if someone is set on a new build right now, I would have no issue pushing them towards a $750 7900xt.

I hadn't previously posted anything about it because it wasn't confirmed and I couldn't remember anyone on here having a Zen 4 CPU, but now that it's confirmed with a fix, just a heads up that if anyone has a Ryzen 7000 CPU, you should update your BIOS asap to avoid potential voltage damage:

Looks like Mindfactory is reflecting roughly what was expected over the last two weeks. Sales of the 4070 held, and actually surged a bit, last week. Now this week it's still in the lead but starting to sag. Hopefully we start seeing some more aggressive price jockeying from both sides in the coming weeks/months.
