Newegg also had a 7950 open box for $225, forgot which one exactly.

Awesome deals though

It's at 4.7GHz at 1.28v, with my cache frequency at 4400 at 1.2v. I got an above average chip, but not the best. It requires 1.35v+ to hit 4.8, and 1.5+ to 5.0.

You won't be able to run those speeds and volts on air unless you delid, and even then I'm not sure.

Any decent optical drives out there that anyone can recommend. Only need something to install programs and burn CD's/download CD's to my computer. They all look the same to me but I don't want to overspend on something that I don't need.

Thanks. This should finish my build. Everything is ordered and well under the original budget I had. Time to wait.

Looks like I'll be getting my new chip a day early. Every time I've ordered from new egg it always get my stuff in 2 days.

If Newegg's stuff comes out of their Tennessee warehouse, us Baton Rouge/NOLA folks get our stuff overnight. Quickest NewEgg shipment experience I've had: Ordered a case and a few other random things early Monday afternoon, right before the rush processing cut-off time. The case shipped separately and both packages were shipped that day, from TN. It was out for delivery the very next morning, and UPS decided to deliver to my neighborhood early, like 10:45am. (which never happens. They usually come just before dusk).

Got my newegg stuff in about 21 hours.

But then sometimes I gamble on free standard shipping, and then they ship out of California, which can actually be over a week. Or they ship every component of a brand new build from Tennessee, EXCEPT for the case, which has a nice long banged-up trip from Cali.

I hope they invent a low-cost supersonic speedy shipping system in my lifetime. I'm too impatient. I've used my Amazon Prime $3.99 Overnight shipping far more often than the free 2-day.

Yep, just about everything comes from the Tennessee warehouse. The only thing that I have ordered that didn't one of my HDD's came from California and it got here the same day as the few other things that I ordered that day.

I have used shoprunner for the last 6 months for free and they finally stopped letting me have it after my last cancellation and my stuff still gets here in 2 days. So actually paying for shoprunner wouldn't be worth it for me.

I've noticed that with UPS Ground, they get it to your house as fast as their normal route will allow. Sometimes that's a week, but if coming from Tennessee it will be literally a day. Same with UPS 3 day. It will be maximum 3 days, but can be one-day. Fedex, on the other hand, is literal about their shipping time. 3 days is 3 days, no matter how close the shipper is.

I'm so excited for something new to overclock.

I told my wife that I might take off of work and she looked at me like this:

Shoprunner is the greatest thing ever with newegg. Everything ordered is shipped from their Tennessee warehouse so it comes in a day

I am finally about to fill up my 1TB HDD

148 Steam games, 16 Origin, Arma II Combined Ops, DayZ and DayZ Commander, War Thunder, 4 Uplay Games, 6 GreenManGaming games, and 2 Desura games.

:notbad:

I have an empty 1.5TB I use for videos, but I messed up when I bought it and didn't see that it was 5400RPM. I think I am going to move my least played games onto it and get a new 7200RPM for recording because sometimes this 5400RPM isn't fast enough depending on the game and how many FPS I record at.

I should just sale the 5400RPM and get a 2TB for my games and a 2TB for recording.

I would save my 1TB for misc/future use.

Thats because they will mark the package as do not deliver before _______. (in their system, nothing the customer ever sees). dont want people catching on they can ship certain lane segments on economy and get the same service as express.

I pretty much refuse to use 5400 rpm and the price jump to 7200 isn't big enough to deter me. You could probably just delete some of those games though that you never play. I keep some games on my hard drive but I will just delete it if I know that I will never play it again.

It was a screw up I bought on a daily deal slasher and didn't read. It gets me by for video stuff and I have been too lazy up to this point to worry about it.

Nah...I would rather just get a bigger drive. I like having them there "in case"

Is there a big difference between DDR3 1600 & 1866? I will be over clocking, but both of the cards that im looking at are rated for it.

Wired Xbox 360 controllers work on PC games, right? I'm about to run into best buy and pick one up.
