Idk about decade but a year or two ya. Have to wait and see how their drivers and features are before anything else.
If the leaked bench is accurate it's about 23% below 3070ti fp32.

I meant that purely on a personal level. I'm generally going to be willing to pay a premium for very high end (albeit not halo) parts, and it will surprise me if Intel can truly push the likes of an Nvidia RTX xx80 in any given generation. But hey, I would love to be surprised

Yeah mass market is their first target this drop. Price to performance and get it in as many PC's as they can.
They won't have a 3080/6800 competitor for a few.

Nvidia is abandoning the ARM deal.

Nvidia Corp. is quietly preparing to abandon its purchase of Arm Ltd. from SoftBank Group Corp. after making little to no progress in winning approval for the $40 billion chip deal, according to people familiar with the matter.
Nvidia has told partners that it doesn’t expect the transaction to close, according to one person, who asked not to be identified because the discussions are private. SoftBank, meanwhile, is stepping up preparations for an Arm initial public offering as an alternative to the Nvidia takeover, another person said.

I need AMD to release some more 5800x3D news to hold me over. I'm suffering tech withdrawal...

AMD 6900XT smashes world records with 3.3GHz OC, maintains highest performing GPU ever made status.
Still crazy AMD was able to beat Nvidia's performance so quickly. Only gets you more excited for RDNA3.

Which 3DMark chart is that? I can't find it replicated just clicking through the major GPU tests (TSEG, TSG, PR) limited to a single GPU. And the only chart of those the 6900xt isn't getting smashed on is the original TimeSpy Graphics test.

Gotta love the epeen rankings, I sure do.
Still would take a 3080ti over it if I had the chance to get either at MSRP

How does the 3080ti stack up to the 6900XT? I know the 3080 was a little behind so I'm assuming the Ti caught up?

Me too, I miss Coyote bragging about Nvidia having the top performance card. Then when AMD has it he's MIA.

By another 6900XT? Nvidia doesn't have anything at 6900XT OC performance levels my guy. Step away from the green shades for a few.
It was all over the tech sites the other day.

Speaking of the vaunted RDNA3 MCM godlike chips, AMD has confirmed they are launching later this year and use 5nm and 6nm nodes. The top 3 models will use both, and the lower tier models will use a single 6nm chip.

Dude, Firestrike is an old DirectX11 benchmark. AMD is putting out great cards, and the 3.3 clock is extremely impressive, but the relative performance of cards in that benchmark matters about as much to me as relative Heaven scores at this point

I just checked overall FPS in techpowerup and the 3080ti was closer to the 3090 at 4k

And just for the sake of ease, for anyone who might come later and is curious what all this Greek is, here is a quick hit page explaining what each 3DMark benchmark does:

And this is a quick link to the "hall of fame":

Important note: Every time you switch between lists, it will default back to "all" for number of GPUs. Because SLI is all but dead at this point, make sure you switch that back to 1x every time.

Steam deck looks sweet though. I'm still 2Q22 on the wait-list feelsbadman

I'm not necessarily jumping to buy one, but I am interested to see whether its release prompts Valve to be a bit more aggressive about bringing games to Steam that haven't previously been available.

Yeah I have no use for it. Handhelds are just not something I use. Much less at 1200x800 resolution.

More AMD MCM news today: 3x more powerful than 6900XT.
Even the lower end model 7600XT is faster than the 6900XT.
MCM is such a mega game changer.

MCM is such a mega game changer.
quote:
AMD’s Radeon RX 7900 XT and 7800 XT series will be the first consumer GPUs to leverage a chiplet or MCM design. Based on the RDNA 3 microarchitecture and fabbed on TSMC’s 5nm+6nm process nodes, these graphics cards are expected to be up to 3x faster than the Radeon RX 6900 XT.
AMD’s Radeon RX 7600 XT is expected to be announced sometime in the third quarter of 2022, followed by the launch in the same quarter. The higher-end RDNA 3 parts should land sometime in the last quarter of the year.

Idc what your excuse is, that is what the tech sites still use and why every major tech site had that article the other day. Like I said, Nvidia can't compete at that level, AMD OC's too well. I can only imagine if RDNA3 with dual chips still OC's even near 3GHz. Sheeeesh.
