Was it that picture of him in his cowboy boots that got him banned?

The PC industry as a hobby seems like it will stay in a pretty terrible state for a few more years. Which sucks..

If you aren't in the market for a GPU, the hobby is a ton of fun right now. Lots of competition in cases, CPUs, fans, coolers, and NVME drives, and RAM prices are starting to drop like a rock.

If you are in the market for a GPU, it's frustrating, but not impossible.

Some CPUs are still hard to get, it could be fun.

Fans, I only buy a select few, and honestly the same ones

Cases I will agree. Hopefully we get caselabs back.

I mean, harder than "it's always in stock", but even chips like the 5900x not only stay in stock for days at a time but have had sales run for it. The 5800x and 5600x basically stay in stock. Intel just threw a haymaker with their new lineup, and AMD is likely going to be announcing their Zen 3D refresh next month.

I think people are just used to being pissed about the hobby at this point, and it's going to take a while to break the habit

Bought parts for my dads PC yesterday from micro center and Amazon. He wanted to go Intel but wanted an i7, instead of an i5.

Core i7-11700 $239.99 (Microcenter)
Corsair LPX 16 GB DDR4-3200 $64.99 (Amazon)
SK Hynix P31 1 TB NVME SSD $119.99 (Amazon)
MSI B560 Tomahawk ATX Board $161.00 (Amazon)

Probably overkill for him, but considering parts prices and the pretty big discount on the i7 from Microcenter, I’d say it’s not terrible.

I love my SK Hynix drives. I definitely don’t need 3TB worth of NVME, but it just makes me happy

Somehow my 011 side panel got a scratch. No clue how b/c I have been very careful handling them.

Any suggestions for repairing the scratch? Or do I just need to look into getting a side panel from Lian Li, if that's even possible?

No suggestions on repair, but I'm fairly certain you could replace it. They shipped me two brand new glass panels for my o11xl. How bad is the scratch? Have a pic?

Excuse the gross color layout. I just flipped it to default static so I could get a good pic.

Yeesh, that’s intense.

Just put in a support ticket on their site. They will follow up via email. Based on past threads, looks like it’s going to run you about $50. If you don’t hear back from them in a week or so, let me know, and I’ll give you the email address of the person I dealt with (my glass was defective), as she was very responsive.

And just to ask a silly question, I assume you’ve pulled all the film off (inside and out, both panels of glass), scratched at the scratch to make sure it’s a scratch and not just a smudge, etc?

Yes, films are off and the scratches (there's a couple of other smaller ones) catch my fingernail when I slide it over them. It's more clear IRL than the pics.

So I think I'm finally about to get me a PC. I've been itching to finally switch over for awhile now and honestly only know so much about specs, which is why I was looking at the pre-built PCs on NZXT. Didn't want the basic one so I was looking at this one LINK

Any thoughts on it? I would like a 3080 though.

PCs are tough right now. That’s not a bad PC at all but you could build the same thing for ~4-500 less if you’re willing to wait and try to build it yourself.

Do you have to have it now? Price an issue?

I built my 3080FE/5600x PC for around 1400 and it’s a beast, but it took several months to get everything. I have a 3080 on order with Mtech bro that will surely take another 2-3 months to get, but I’d sell it to you for what I paid + a small tip since you’re a bro.

Just depends on how soon you’re wanting to do everything.

How about this:

PC Part Picker

Zotac 3070

It’s basically the same build you got from NZXT, but you’ll save a couple hundred bucks.

PCPP - $678.68
3070 - $869.99
Total - $1548.67

Windows 10 - $31 from G2A
Win10 G2A

See that's thing, I don't want to pick parts to where they underperform or pick the wrong ones. That and I really don't want to put it together myself unless I absolutely have to. I'm telling you, I'm pretty much a noob when it comes to PC parts outside of your GPUs. I just didn't want to get a basic arse PC.

I'm ready to pull the trigger on something and knew this would be the place for help.
