RIP. It was super limited stock from what I gather.
yep, had it in my cart and purchased it like 6 times before AMD.com banned me. None went through.
Best Buy's stock disappeared immediately when they finally went live.

Unlucky. I was going to wake up and go for a 5900X but slept on through. I can wait until stock stabilizes though.

I got my 3090 still looking for a home, lol.
Sticking with it over the AMDs even though they look quite enticing. Just some benefits I prefer from N like gsync and DLSS for stuff I do. Plus a bit more vram for my rendering and shite.

Word, although g sync is basically dead and merged into freesync at this point but that was inevitable probably like DLSS as well.

Yeah but I don't have the newer version monitors, mine are gsync only, so I am sticking to that til I upgrade monitors which may not be awhile.

Ah I see, they are old enough they never got certified or whatever to support both?

i dont think DLSS is going anywhere. shite, AMD is trying to get their own version off the ground. I think it's the future of gaming, it's the only way 8K will ever be viable.
played ghostrunner last night with my 3080. native 4k with all settings maxed, I was averaging 85fps. Turned on DLSS (balanced mode) and averaged 117fps. could not tell a difference between native and upscaled. really amazing.

DLSS not the tech. It will merge into the AMD/Microsoft open source version that devs support.
Nvidia has a bad problem with trying to make everything closed source like say Apple, but then they get forced to support the open standard like with G Sync when support dries up.

ah i see what you meant, nvm

Yeah, DLSS tech is the future, not DLSS itself. There is an open standard that will be mainstream and on consoles built into DirectX for ML, ray tracing and other things as well baked right into Windows.
Big win for Xbox going forward too assuming it never comes to PS5, surely it will.
Now we just need to get you off of Apple.
quote:
"In a recent disclosure regarding their Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S system, Microsoft confirmed that both of their next-generation consoles would support Machine learning for games with DirectML. Through their collaboration with AMD when creating their new consoles, AMD has a chance to replace DLSS with an alternative which will apply to gamers on both PC and Xbox, giving developers little reason to support DLSS over DirectML Super Resolution."
Through close collaboration and partnership between Xbox and AMD, not only have we delivered on this promise, we have gone even further introducing additional next-generation innovation such as hardware accelerated Machine Learning capabilities for better NPC intelligence, more lifelike animation, and improved visual quality via techniques such as ML powered super resolution.

A lot of the VR stuff I am using already has DLSS, but I’m sure the standard will win and is definitely the future. However I will have DLSS now and something to actually use it in now. 3090 isn’t gonna last me long as I update often, so that isn’t a big deal to me to go DLSS now to make use of it.

Won’t ever happen with me, family on apple and I prefer. Plus it has much better support on apps for work. Android seems like a second class citizen and they don’t really give a shite about updating them.

I was talking to Carson but I guess you too, nasty frickers.
Back when I had my Note 10 it came bundled with a ton of work apps and the whole MS office suite but I don't use that stuff or the Dex and Microsoft/Windows Android integration.

Yeah I kinda butted in, on that one
It’s not common work related apps like that. It’s more specific to work field type stuff.

I see. I personally can't stand Apple or their products, made the switch around the 6 and was like wow yeah okay I'm never going back. Then Jobs died and Apple quit inventing and just pump out the same thing now over and over to their sheep.
Idk how anyone could be super into tech and like an iPhone.

Cyberpunk has Ray Tracing for AMD after all per Nvidia.
Uses the same API I was talking about with Machine Learning.
ETA: I posted this on Reddit and got gilded for first time and it was #1 thread on PC gaming

Because some people aren't weird and think a phone is going to magically do so much more than the other phones.
