I'm guessing $1400.

Should see them early next year, hopefully this Qualcomm monopoly is about to end they're in court right now but it's 50/50.

10th gen intel desktop finally hitting today

Anandtech

Reading about some workarounds where you can even overclock now on Non Z boards and even non K SKUs.

Curious to see prices when they hit microcenter

USB 4 will fully support DisplayPort 2, including 8K HDR monitors

Since it also supports the Thunderbolt 3 standard, USB 4 will become a universal connection standard for both smartphones and PCs, supporting things like “docking, gaming, AR/VR HMDs, and professional HDR displays,” VESA said.

Finally. This is very welcome.

I wouldnt say that depending on benchmarks first. In the end Intel still could have a somewhat noticeable lead in gaming, and bringing the i7 line down so much in price could make it a go to chip for gamers.

I will say seems like they are trying some at least to price things better.

I would because it's how it is.

Knocking down $520 to $487 for the same product isn't going to persuade anyone. Not to even mention the requirement for a new motherboard shoots you well past a respectable price target. You'd have to be an idiot to buy one and a new mobo on the last rehash of 14nm.

They will sell like dog shite like last Gen.

Yep.

Can't imagine being an Apple user who pays a premium then is forced carrying around 1 cable for 1 device when everything else you own takes USC-C.

Just to let you know, feel like I just cheated on my GF, or worse, played with another dog who is not my puppy.

Besides covid stuff driving the market down, right now is a good time to purchase some AMD ahead of the 4000 launch and RDNA2.

Oddly, it is my only tech stock.

Edt: It will drop, esp after lower 2nd quarter figures. Aiming to dump more then, no?

You remember those LG monitors you got from me in around 2012?

If you remember I had 3 for sale. I'd planned on doing nVidia Surround 3xmomitor setup for a racing sim build (Dirt). I've posted pictures, I believe, a long time ago of that setup. I just didn't have the room in at the time for the setup.

However, I do want to build a rig for the new upcoming MS Flight Simulator.

Probably won't drop much, 2nd quarter with drops are pretty standard with no releases. Dropped in 2019 as well for example.

Revenue is the main thing, and expected up 21% yoy.

So yes, dump more in. ~$100 price target end of 2022 is still very possible.

I was talking more how they are pricing the i5/i7 line. The 10700 and 10700k is basically more in line with the 3700x and 3800x short of you having a microcenter near by, and they should easily beat those in gaming by 5-10%. Overclocking non-K chips seems to be an interesting topic as well, although I'm sure Intel will do everything they can to stop that.

I avoided Intel last year for my build due to non-hyperthreaded i5/i7 lines and I wasn't shelling out $500 for a i9-9900k on a dead socket. Seems like they are just headed in a better direction now, obviously thanks to AMD.
