I can't believe this mining shite has lasted so long this time around. I guess it hit a lull for a short while but came back full force. Any scummy companies taking ASIC preoders with unknown release dates?

People are still making money on alts, and they will be for awhile. Until many of them die off, there will continue to be opportunities to make money in alts.

I guess. A 1080ti only makes $80/month now. The 10 month return on them right now is insanely high for new miners to get into, so they've been slowly coming back down to earth with their prices

Yeah not worth the trouble of turning on my 1080 Tis to mine, even though they've been completely idle for two months now. Makes the room too warm.

I just hate seeing the GPU market this way, where people are happy to find a card that's only a few dollars above retail.

You probably could have had you 1080tis paid off if you mined them like a month ago

A dude on r/hardwareswap is selling a new 1080 Ti FE for $750 locally. I offered him $800 to ship it here but he only wants to meet FTF in San Diego.
$800 is basically MSRP for me because I made $100 flipping a GTX 960 recently.

Have fun with that. Doesn't seem that worth it to me now.

I saw that but its CarRamrod. He's a mall cop dumbass that probably doesn't understand the financials of what his ROI would need to be to make that ongoing and initial expense profitable at this point.

Was he just trying to sound impressive?

Still have a bit of FOMO on the mining thing, but whatever. Back in the day (2013-ish) I made thousands in just a couple months from mining. It sounds douchy to say but I value my time a lot more these days, unless I already had a truckload of hardware and a dedicated room.

Plus, something in my PC fricking died the other day, maybe. Had a BSOD, then after reboot my NVME (960 Pro) was no longer recognized. If I power down and then go back to the bios, it's recognized. But when I redo the boot order and save/reboot, it disappears again.

Haven't had time to see if it's the mobo or the drive.

That sounds like a mobo issue. What a nightmare

That thread made me put my Titan Xp and 1080 both on eBay today. Asking $1500 for the Titan Xp. We'll see how it goes.

If I sell them each for the asking price I will order the Titan V

No offense but that architecture has been out since Q2 2016. Your bad for waiting until mid 2017. We should get a refresh soon, jump on it! =)

True. But I bought my PC (asus G20CB)second hand in mid 2017 for $400 w/ a 27" asus monitor so I was already dead in the water in terms of upgrading the card around a decent price.

You might have to lower your asking price because the Star Wars one is only $1400 on there. Nvidia actually had some in stock on their site earlier this week for $1200.
How much for the 1080?

Yeah but is $300 bucks worth it to not have a card? Wait to sell in a few months when we get a refresh in June. (Hopefully per rumors)

Unless you aren't gaming at all and want to get a complete return on your 1yr old investment. Then yeah go for it.

I'm deep into the RasPi world again and looking for a new stand for my cluster. Came across this "GeauxRobot" cluster stack on both Amazon and eBay.

Local?

I don't even have either one of my gaming PCs with me at my place in Cali. I will be moving again by the time the next refresh comes out and will worry about it then. Using my laptop for the little gaming I do now.
