Dell unveils the new XPS 15 2 in 1
I think I may get this. Wanted a 13" but that is too small I guess for any dGPU or the new Intel+Vega chip as neither the new XPS 13 or HP Spectre 13 offer them, only the 15 inch.
Only concern is this new maglev keyboard on the XPS, early hands on impressions are pretty mixed so that may steer me to the HP.

Among the most interesting quirks is the laptop’s keyboard: though it looks and feels just like typical Dell keyboard, it’s built using a brand-new mechanism that relies on magnets. The keys are still physically held in place at their corners, but there are now magnets beneath them to provide feedback. By controlling the strength of their repulsion, Dell can create a deeper, clickier feeling for the keys than their 0.7mm travel would normally allow.

Yes those never came with dGPU and didn't think it would change this refresh. It does suck because imo 15" is not a true portable
/travel for factor.
EDT: I'm a little disappointed with this Intel/AMD BS. We thought it would be used on the same substraight but not the case. So it is still a dGPU just not 2 separate chips but separate silicons. So the hope of it coming to small for factor thin and lights is out the window.

I'm also disappointed with the 8th gen i7 U series. Love having the 4C/8T on entry level mobile i7s but the base clock speeds and the time it takes to ramp up to turbo 2.0 and 3.0 is too slow. They are worried about battery life and thermals far to much.
A lot of processes still rely on higher clocks and single core performance. There is a little slow down with programs I use from moving from 7th gen i5 to 8th gen i7 CPUs in my work machine.

Just dropping in to say Mexico is a shithole. Here for 4 days visiting our office here. I dread this trip every 60 days or so when it pops up.

I love Mexico but I only go to the good places for gringos.
I'll be on Isla Mujeres in three weeks.

This is literally the worst time ever to buy a GPU for gaming.
Nothing at my local Frys. No 1070s, 1070tis, 1080s, or 1080tis.

My friend managed to buy 4 580's for his mining rig about a month ago at his KC Microcenter for $279 each.
Should have had him grab me a couple just to resell like I did back in early 2017 with the Ethereum boom.

I called Microcenter yesterday and the guy there said they expect a full restock at the end of the month.
Also said the Fractal R6s should be available beginning next week.

Goodluck. They're likely going to be crazy expensive like every other retailer.
Buying a GTX 1070 for $350 today and a laptop with a 7700HQ and 1050ti for $300

I have 2 laptops and a 1 Chromebook for sale which get no no use. The SO went back to school last year and we got purchased some Surface Pros. On Monday I posted a pic here of my surprisingly awesome new work laptop. The device is a Dell 15 7000 2-in-1 w/ an 8th Gen i7 8550U 4C/8T 8MB L3 @ 4.0T w/ a decent FULL GLOSSY 1080p IPS 400 NITS touchscreen. Recommend this laptop to anyone looking for an entry level 2-in-1.

So what's good to sell for mining? I have quite a few cards laying around. Staring at a pair of 780ti Classifieds right now.

Blue interested in my Dell w/ i5 and 1060? Might be able to go down on the price.
That is a great price for that laptop with a i7 and 1050 Ti. But hey, you might need a 1060 one day!
