God damn the down votes.
New work laptop has an 8th gen. Haven't booted it up yet.
Edt: it is just a U series but nice to see 4 physical cores with the base model i7s.

Since I leave my PC on 24/7 already, I decided I would jump into the altcoin mining nonsense.
Making just under $500 a month after power with my two 1080s, 1050 ti and 5960x. Free rent every month

I want to do this since I'm never at home. Looked at the calculator and it didn't seem worth the headache.
When did you start?

About a week ago. I'm using nicehash so it basically handles everything for me. It'll mine whatever the most profitable algo is for your cards which is really nice. Plus it automatically pays you out in BTC. You don't make as much as trying to mine a specific coin, but this is soooo much easier
Edit: 1080s and 1080 tis are some beast miners right now
Edit2: If you can remote into your PC, I'd recommend getting it started. Super freaking easy to do with nicehash

I just have my 2 x TITAN X Pascals. It was easier when mining during the 1st craze but also wasn't super easy.
So you use NiceHash? I know PCPer recommended NiceHash but didn't they get hacked?

Think they got hacked a while back, shut down shop, but have since started running again.
I make sure to move my BTC straight to my wallet or coinbase right when it's available

Coinbase terminated my account last year for I guess buying gear overseas. Never gave me a reason why, just that my activity was against their terms.
I was using GoCelery but they got hacked earlier this year. Leaving me with luckily just a few hundred in the account since I just placed an order for more gear at the time.
Every other online wallet/exchange seems like hell to use compared to Coinbase.

You can send me your titans and I'll mine them and split profits
Edit: shite those two Titans probably bring in $500+/month after power

Supposedly their hashrate is similar, likely better than the 1080ti and one 1080ti makes ~$250 profit

I didnt see that dip on coinstats, I'm up 340% but I don't think I am buying in much more unless it breaks a penny and then corrects.

Anyone have any thoughts on this laptop?
I have the exact same laptop for gaming on the road.
It maxes out AC Origins and Battlefront 2 @ 1080p/60fps. Love it. Just recommend buying a SSD or M.2 nVME drive to replace the mechanical HDD.
Edt: That is basically what I recommended. It also have TB 3.0 so you can do an external GPU.

I have the two year old version of that I am about to get rid of for this maybe. Still looking but I want something I can do some light gaming on that doesn't look like a gaming laptop I can use for business travel as well. Don't want to roll up in meetings with all the ugly shite they put on gaming laptops now days and not be taken seriously or something.
This laptop is still the tits, though.

Keyboard placement is the only issue I hold with it.
But pixel density at on a 15" form factor is awesome at 1080. Meaning you don't need to spend money over 1K to Max out AAA games for a great gaming experience @ 1080p/60fps.
Edt: with a GTX 1060.
