I have not been reading rumor threads these last 2-3weeks.
Any update on desktop APUs from AMD? I know we have mobile apps being released.

It's great for the price. I still prefer my PS4 Pro for most games so I'll say it to you again the days of me spending $500+ on a GPU are gone. Just no point for me.
You make a damn good GPU for the money that I can pair with a top tier loaded monitor and I'm good.
And yes AMD FineWine is a real thing, and a great meme too.

I believe they just announced them a few days ago? But not 100%, haven't been following lately either, but I thought I saw them unveil something this week.
ETA: looks like that was mobile only, almost wish I was in the market for a laptop, seem to be pretty beast offerings.

They have several.
You waste money on CPU upgrades where just an extra $200 on a GPU would have topped RL gaming performance. That is why it is just silly when you talk not having a GPU exceed over a certain price. That is all i'm saying.

It cost me $80 to upgrade CPU's and I do editing so more cores is actually beneficial.
GPU is for gaming only, and I'm set there until Navi.
It's rich you talk about wasting money and 2 months ago you were dropping ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS on a CPU for fricking PCIE lanes GTFO with that shite.

My head is spinning..
You are helping out this guy upgrade within the AC:Origins thread, started a thread about it and linked to it AND posting in this thread for advice?
I'm confused who the upgrade is even needed for, you or him.

No, he's either an alter playing, or as dumb as he appears. It would be great though if one of our heavy hitters ended up being the alter, that would be funny as shite!!! They are playing the long game if they are an alter. The board needs some excitement anyway.

8700K
2 Titan Xp's
500GB 4800MHz RAM
Most expensive GSync monitor on market
Should be good to go then, and only then.
I am triggered. The logical answer here is a Threadripper 1950X.

Is the mining craze calming down?
Newegg has the Gigabyte RX Vega 56 for $419.99, with a $20 rebate, bringing it to $399.99, MSRP for the RX Vega 56.
Newegg also has the Sapphire RX Vega 64 for $499.99, which is MSRP for the Vega 64.

Since everyone loves talking price to performance in PC land, the car I want the most is the best price to performance in the car industry right now.
Finished second to a McLaren 720S in Road and Track's Performance Car of the Year Award and even got 2 first place votes. Price as tested ($73,000.00) was only $305,000.00 less than the price as tested of the McLaren ($378,000.00).
It was also faster around the track than the Porsche 911 GT3.
"Two editors cast first-place votes for the Camaro ZL1 1LE, and no wonder. The big-box Chevrolet seems to vibrate from the tires up with a sort of manic pixie dream pony-car joyfulness. “Still big and heavy, but that makes it all the more impressive,” Okulski said. “The only limiting factor on track time is the amount of fuel in the tank—it could run for days straight.” If the C7 Corvette Z06 is a very good car, and the previous-generation Camaro Z/28 was a flat-out great car, then this combination is somehow even better than the sum of its impressive parts. Capable of running with $200,000 supercars, yet easily serviceable at your local GM dealer, the ZL1 1LE is a stunning statement of intent and an example of what America’s biggest car company can do when it lets engineers turn their dreams into reality. God bless it for existing."

Intel Announces New CPUs Integrating AMD Radeon Graphics
PCPer - Intel makes it official!!!!
quote:
In what is probably considered one of the worst kept secrets in the industry, Intel has announced a new CPU line for the mobile market that integrates AMD’s Radeon graphics. For the past year or so rumors of such a partnership were freely flowing, but now we finally get confirmation as to how this will be implemented and marketed. Intel’s record on designing GPUs has been rather pedestrian. While they have kept up with the competition, a slew of small issues and incompatibilities have plagued each generation. Performance is also an issue when trying to compete with AMD’s APUs as well as discrete mobile graphics offerings from both AMD and NVIDIA. Software and driver support is another area where Intel has been unable to compete due largely to economics and the competitions’ decades of experience in this area.
