A Node 304? Awesome choice!
I have been drooling over it since launch. I just choose to go even smaller for my HTPC, if I haven't that would have been my choice. You will be impressed with the build quality of Fractal products.

Which case do you have?
I really like the inside set up and size of the Cooler Master Elite 120 but I can't get past the front exterior of it. If I could clean that up somehow I may go that route since it is smaller than the Fractal Design.

The Define Mini.
I purchased it for a home server then it turned into my 2nd rig now it is my GF's lightroom/CS computer(she doesn't game).
Same. I love the size and shape but damn gray plastic is terrible. Cooler Master is still stuck in 2006.
I was an "all" cooler master type of guy back in the day. They made some of the best stuff before all these other companies came along around 2008.

Anyone gaming tonight?
What could we play? Dead Island Riptide?
I have been playing Witcher 2 all night. Game is awesome but some mechanics seem very odd which ruin fluid game play.

You gonna be online tonight?

With all the headache of what was supposed to be an easy upgrade, I was fully expecting it not to boot the first time. Pleasant surprise.
Assembled, filled, leak tested, most of the air bled, now I'm installing windows.
Bios showed the CPU temp at 35C. Idle temps are hard to judge, but thats not promising for stock.

Isn't the processor running at full load whenever you're in the bios?
My mobo always read higher temps than what I got in realtemp, speedfan, etc

Would be nice, but no. Now, the bios is a little off though, if you consider RealTemp to be accurate. My idle temps at stock are 24-28C.
My Prime Blend Test temps are 50-55C, stock.
About what I expected. Probably going to delid, but we'll see what happens when I try to OC. Too tired now.

Hell yeah cant wait to see what you can pull out of it!
But 35C at stock? That seems 2 to 3 degrees too high, but then again the iGPU is probably kicking it up. My 3770K gets around that idle 4.6 @ 1.40V. That isn't too bad I wouldn't think.
Have you sold your SB yet? Sorry if you posted, I havent been keeping up with the thread during the week.

I broke one of my CPUs tonight by dropping it. Bent pins on a FX4100, shitty chip anyway.
Long story short the GFs rig has an 8320, she doesnt game just a desktop PC for lightroom and "paying bills". lol
Well it was hanging up during almost every boot and has been locking up randomly while just idle. So I re-installed cleaned it out, re-installed windows, checked RAM, PSU and SSD.. nothing, the problem was still present. So I thought it was the extremely low end MSI motherboard in it. So in the process of switching out her old MOBO with a new MOBO I dropped the CPU on the floor and bent one side of pins. I will try straightening them out tomorrow but it is pretty bad.
ETD: Saying all that, hopefully IB-E will have soldered TIM between IHS and die.
Would be a scary to delid a $600 cpu just to kill it.

My 3570k goes to about 65 during that on air cooling. I have had another fan to push/pull the cpu but have yet to add it on.

I rock about 43c-45c with my h100i on my 955 overclocked to 4.2@1.48v in prime95. 4.4@1.56 its 47-49c. Stock is 3.2. My chip does work.
ETA: Giving you guys a different perspective considering my chip uses a lot more power and has 45nm processing.
