Wait that is $299? For 3GB? You can do a LOT better than that for the money that is a ripoff holy.
Go with this
Or this
Or a similar version. You missed the 4GB MSI OC edition for $160 today on Jet. Are you still using an FX8350?

Yea, I'm still using the FX8350. Would like to upgrade that as well at some point, but not sure when that will be.

Anything I should know before installing a second SSD? Got a 850 EVO to go along with my other SSD in my build, any formatting I need to do or just plug and play?

Monitors have evolved immensely since I owned a Desktop PC. Can anyone point me to somewhere i can get some info on all the new technology thats out, and coming out? Obviously I could google and watch youtube videos, just curious if anyone has any info.
I remember when CRT's where king because of the refresh rate. What t he frick is a G sync and why do i need it?I know a lot of it has to do with what resolution, and if you plan on going 4k in the future.
I'm currently on a 144hz@1080p and love it, Don't plan on 4k for awhile, but I know I want to upgrade to 1440 here when the new GPU's drop.

Last of my parts should arrive today. 6600k, amd 480 4gb, 16gb ram, 480gb ssd, 1 tb hd, Viewsonic 144hz freesync monitor, phanteks case.
Now for the part that really worries me: assembly. If all goes well, I'll be trying out Dishonored DE tonight. Never finished it despite really enjoying what little I did play.

Just from my experience but builds are a breeze now compared to a couple of years ago. Cable management is honestly the hardest part.

I've got a gold Corsair RM850 PSU, will it be sufficient enough to run either GPU you posted?
Posted on 11/29/16 at 5:32 pm to USAF Hart
Yeah you'll be good the 480 has a low TDP of 150, that PSU is plenty.
I'd recommend that XFX 8GB version for $229. Excellent deal.

Incoming dumb question:
Graphics cards are just plug an play+installing new video drivers correct? I don't have to reload OS or anything, and I won't lose anything currently on the desktop?

Correct, just plug it in and install the latest drivers.

Not much has changed in the last couple of years, talk to the guys that had to manage jumpers.

Just finished building. That took way longer than expected. Turned it on and, to my relief, the damn thing actually booted up into Bios without any issues and it seems to recognize everything correctly. I was paranoid the whole time that I'd fricked something up.
Putting on the CPU cooler was probably the worst part. I'll keep a close eye on it these first couple days to make sure I got it done right. Now to figure out this bios nonsense and install Windows 10.

If anyone listens to PCPer's podcast they just read my Patreon donation and acknowledged the donor(me). Wasn't expecting a Kentucky fella to correctly pronounce my surname.
Actually caught me off guard. Had it playing in the background and heard someone say my name.

Sold my LG 4K monitor for $40 more than I paid for it.

I'm about a month out from getting a new phone. At this point, I'm just wondering if the OnePlus 3T is really as much of a no-brainer as I think it is.
Posted on 12/1/16 at 11:55 pm to ILikeLSUToo
If it didn't have the ugly physical button and fingerprint scanner on the front I would have considered the 3T.
But still absolutely love my 6P so I'll hold steady until something bests it.

You should of tried doing a build in 1990 when I did my first. It's a snap now. There are so many choices available. We had to track down computer shops that were willing to sell individual components.
