So the Vulkan API made it into Android 7 Nougat. That's pretty cool, even though I never play mobile games.
LG V20 is the first device to ship with Nougat.
Sweet, didn't know multiwindow was coming standard in Nougat. Bye bye Xposed module.

You haven't tried the beta out?
I loved multitasker, but I had to get rid of the beta since Pokemon go didn't run on it

Nah, never do, I wait for my ROM to update to the official release version. Usually too many issues early on in beta and I use a lot of Xposed modules for customization, and if I had to guess Xposed doesn't work on Nougat yet or very poorly if it does at all.
Nougat looks really good though, excited for it.
It began rolling out today for those of you non rooted Android people. Check for update.

As long as Pokemon go is working on it I'll probably update

I'm so done with Pokemon Go. My feet are already killing me at the end of every day now.
So, my tech news consumption in the past week has only been skimming headlines, but is it true the HTC Marlin only has an 820? Still no confirmation of front-facing speakers, wireless charging?

No one has any clue at all right now about the internals for either version.
I have stopped the rumor mill reading until full reveal, people have no idea right now and I may not even be that interested.
"Leaked" prices are $599 and $449. Coming in Oct or Nov, rumors for both.

The SO and I will upgrade to the new Nexus phones. I'm coming from this hunk 5X to the Sailfish and she will go from the Moto X 2015 Pure Edition to Marlin.
Hope the camera is decent. HTC normally does a piss job with their cameras.
Edt: I would have got her a S7 but im just fearful of touch wiz. She doesn't want any change from stock Android.

Nice.
I may just stick with my 6P for another year, not sure yet. Too many rumors of what is and isn't in/on the phone.

If I had a 6P I'll probably keep the phone.
But then idk, I like the smaller size

I would upgrade if it weren't made by HTC. You're mileage may vary though.

Yeah I probably will, I like the bigger size like the N6 myself. Screen wise.
Throw in the SD820 instead of 821 and no front facing stereo speakers and I'm out on the new one (if true).

I like HTC designs. Just their screens and cameras are historically vomit.

HTC killed it with the Nexus 5, still the best Nexus to date for most.
I don't give a shite about their own line.
Hell Huawei made the 6P, first phone for them in the US, and they knocked it out of the park.

That was LG. Also my favorite phone to date.
Huawei was already a good brand before coming to NA. Totally different.

Get on with support at 2am when it hadn't shipped to make sure everything is fine, say yep be there today, nope.
Preorder release date guaranteed delivery, doesn't ship. AHHHHHH
ETA: backordered until the 29th LOL release date delivery guarantee my arse what in the frick Amazon
ETA2: Ordered one on Gamestop going to go pick it up later, first time I've been to a Gamestop in probably 5+ years
It's lit

Google explained that new devices that ship with Nougat on board would come with support for seamless updates that will make updating the entire system and Android apps a lot easier than before. That means your next Android update will be ready to go instantly, without requiring restarts or other annoying app optimizations.
Nothing worse than the slow arse App Optimization part of custom roms/kernels. So that's cool, but...

But to offer this feature, devices will have to sacrifice some of their built-in storage. A developer who has intimate knowledge of HTC’s plans, and who has leaked details about HTC’s plans before, says the feature will be found on the upcoming Nexus handsets.

I've been doing a lot of looking around at a mobo upgrade for my pc. I have a micro atx gigabyte h110m, but I want a full ATX board for more RAM slots, some better features, and to fit the aesthetics of my case better (I have a corsair air540 but a micro atx board.. Lol) . Looking at a couple of budget ATX 1151 socket Z190 chipset boards.. How do you guys choose among Asus, Asrock, MSI, Gigabyte, etc..? Feature list vs price? Personal experience with the brands?
I like the red on the MSI Gaming boards but I don't really want to make a decision just based upon the color scheme unless that's just the only real difference.

I have the MSI Gaming M7 and love it, zero issues, great features, timely updates, and solid overclocking.
I think most go by personal experience with brands, I like Asus a lot too.

Nice! I've only watched 1 of the 3. Really need to get around to watching 2 of those. Hoping the Neo is lauched before Potter UHD blu-rays are released. If not I will be in the same boat as yourself.
