I get that feeling from tech journalist.

Multiple sources have stated, without breaking NDA, say 2 of them are almost the price of a car.

It will be more than TITANs at launch, then they will be priced crazy by 3rd parties. My second TITAN was purchased at a deal for 1300. At launch, I feel retail at less $1999 and 3rd probably $3k.

Edt: Crazy third party prices at less for 1-2 months after launch.

Remember, a nearly unlocked GK110 was out for a year before TITANs GK110 was launched. So nVidia had those left over from binned Teslas for production of those TITANs.

Negative pressure sucks in more dust through unfiltered openings in the case.

Positive pressure sucks in more dust through unfiltered intake fans in the case.

Positive all fans Intake

Negative all fans Exhaust

Neutral even Intake / Exhaust for even air flow over components.

I rather positive pressure simply because it is always pushing dust out and brining in cool air across the boards and heatsinks.

Edt: Also believe its nethier here nor there, just like push/pull.

I find push/pulls to make little to no difference if you're using decent fans.

You would want some exhaust fans on positive system correct?

Or do you rely solely on fan-less openings?

I was thinking about doing something like this with filters over the top and front.

Change the top 2 to exhaust and you have what the rest of us do that are air cooled

This is my set up, but the top two are exhaust from the liquid cooler. The case (thanks ILike) has filters on all the inbound openings, I had to take the top exhaust filter off because it was trapping dust in. I have a long haired dog and the inside of my case stays very clean.

So that would, I assume, change it to negative pressure (assuming similar fan size)? In that case I would still want to get filters for all open fan slots, which would just be the side opening.

I have a 60 LB Aussie, but her arse gets shaved in the spring and stays that way until fall otherwise she loses hair in clumps it's so bad.

I'm assuming you get clumps of hair around every baseboard like me. I clean it up and it appears again in 2-3 days.

Everything I near the floor in my house is covered.

She doesn't shed bad in the winter, but as soon as spring gets here it's game on. I got tired of battling the hair and that's why she gets buzzed spring-fall. The bottom half of my furniture where she would lay would be covered.

I accidentally sort of contradicted myself in my post since I said negative is preferable, and then I said balanced. But either one is better than positive for keeping dust out if unfiltered, but neither are better than a filtered system with slightly positive pressure. For cooling performance, though, it doesn't matter that much either way, other than the issues you'll face when you get too much dust build-up.

Ahh..my dogs shed all year round, but yes definitely worse in the summer.

I don't have the option of shaving them. Well I guess I do, but my wife wouldn't let that happen.

Yes, it would change it to negative, and I don't recommend it. In a negative pressure setup, air still has to come from somewhere, and it will draw from the path of least resistance, which is every, crack, grill, hole, etc. on your case. You can't filter your entire case, at least not practically.

I did watch that, and it all makes sense. I will try those top two fans as intake.

The next question I would have is about the 212 EVO. The fan on it by default meant to on the bottom side flowing up through the heat sink and out the top "exhaust" fans. If I flip those top fans, what would be the best way to configure the CPU fan? On top blowing down would make the most sense to me.

Actually the most typical installation of the Hyper 212 is like this:

Which would work fine if you leave your rear fan as exhaust. It has the disadvantage of often blocking the first DIMM slot if your RAM has tall-ish heatspreaders, but no big deal if you're just using two sticks of RAM.

Ok cool. I was watching an installation video on youtube and they had the fan installed turned 90 degrees from that. The instructions show it the way you have it though.

Cool that solves that.

Thanks!

So TITAN Xs only 999 retail, it will be hard to get a pair for the next few months.

Fckk the 980 TIs, I want binned GM200s for just a few hundred more.

$999 seems more reasonable. By reasonable, I mean by nvidia standards.
