I mean I’m not calling him a liar but your average gamer isn’t lurking the way he was but

Least shocking reveal ever. His reasoning for opting out was always weird. “I don’t have time to play the game”.
Nice bargaining tacit for getting a higher rating??

Coming from a black dude that statement usually is followed by "wanna put a few dollars on it". He's played some madden in his day.

Idk but apparently EA paid him $50K-$60K to advertise the game alongside Eli then paid him an extra $600 bucks. The $600 is what was paid out to every athlete that “opted in” to have their likeness in the game so nothing wrong with that. Until the $50,000 is mentioned…
This could backfire tremendously for EA. His last name commands respect but the dude is a backup and got PAID by EA to be in it. Everyone can read between the lines. This wasn’t just for an ad. They wanted him in the game and they paid him a crazy amount for it. I wouldn’t be surprised in the future if more athletes “opted out” in order to secure more money from EA…which could ultimately lead EA to just drop real rosters entirely or worse. Hopefully that doesn’t happen but EA might have just fricked themselves in the future by catering to Arch

Such an idiotic move to pay him that much. Now every swinging dick playing D-I is going to want 5-6 figures if the backup QB at Texas got that much to be in the game
Ewers was paid $600 to be in the game and he’s QB1

Yeah EA fricked themselves with that move. Wouldn’t shock me now if we don’t get another game

Tell me EA is not this stupid. Now top players will bargain every year to get big money to be in the game. Or maybe EA plans on not releasing another one next year.

Blows my mind with all the buzz and excitement around the game they caved. The pre-order numbers alone have to look good. Just tell him to kick rocks and make an example that your willing to leave big names out of the game.

Ewers is on the cover, he made more than 600.

I'm sure he didn't get $50K. What an absolute moronic decision by EA

I’m not buying this game until Arch Manning is in it
Said literally no one.

Man frick that prick!! Arch was such an arrogant turd when he was at Newman. Coached against him for baseball a couple of times and once in football and he was such a smug prick

Will the custom stadium sounds still be in the game? because i'm sure EA wont put the first down "geaux tigers" chant...

Has it been confirmed by any legit sources that Arch was paid to be in the game (beyond the standard $600 and a copy of the game) or is this all clickbait speculative nonsense?
If he is being paid to help advertise the game then that’s a completely different situation.

He was paid to advertise the game wouldn’t be surprised if this was all a publicity stunt.

It is and it isn't. You can't tell me other, higher profile players aren't seeing that and won't demand it next year and the year after, and the year after, etc.

How? We already know that there are players that are getting more than $600 to promote the game.

Apparently EA requested band songs that are played during 1st downs, 3rd/4th down stops, etc along with the fight songs (Matt Brown reported this)
so we’ll see if LSU sent geaux tigers, chinese bandits, etc.
Off topic, but I know Auburn’s War Eagle is in the game for the first time ever since EA had trouble licensing it in past games.
As for custom sounds, I highly doubt it honestly.
