I swear I saw an article or two that mentioned NIL was in dynasty. I’ll see if I can find it.

EA Sports did note to UPROXX that this is not an exhaustive list and there was a chance for more songs to be added.

Oh and another detail with the coaching carousel: Coordinators will have their own skill trees too.

I saw one article mention that you could start off your coaching career as a position coach but I haven’t seen that mentioned anywhere else.

Early gameplay review

New passing system

quote:

It works like the old MVP Baseball 05 throwing system, where you have a meter for each throw and the longer you hold it, the harder the throw.

This allows you to layer the ball, from feathery, high-arcing lobs that drop in over the defense to intermediate throws over a linebacker, to a laser that fits in a tight window before a defender can get there. It gives you much more control over passes than the old “tap to lob, hold to rifle” passing system, but it does require you to really put in some time to get used to it.

Wear and Tear system

quote:

They made clear that this isn’t a fatigue system (like the old NCAA games had). Instead, the way it works is, each body part is broken out and has different player attributes and skill ratings attached to it. As you accumulate hits over the course of the game, you’ll be able to see where a guy has taken damage, and his skill ratings in the attributes tied to that body part will decrease (i.e., throw power and throw accuracy for a QB’s throwing arm).

What kinds of hits you take will matter, as not all hits are created equal in the physics-based system. Getting your QB hit by a big defensive tackle will do more damage than a corner on a blitz. A bigger, stronger player will suffer less wear and tear versus a smaller, speedier guy.

Better AI

quote:

The coverages are much smarter, with windows closing much faster in the passing game than they used to, especially against zone coverage. They’re also better at disguising coverages and blitzes, and you’ll have to really be seeing the whole field as a passer.

Defenses will adapt to how you’re playing, with real-time coaching that makes adjustments to what they’re running to force you to continually differentiate your play-calling. No longer can you spam the same few plays over and over to exploit the same coverage the defense keeps running. If you show the defense the same play one too many times, it’s likely headed back the other way.

Can’t find it on my phone but there is a cbs sports article and the guy being interviewed said NIL is in the game for dynasty but you aren’t using money for it. It’s all about brand awareness points. Another article I saw said that some of the “NIL” deals can lead to some bonuses for players. The example given was that if a player signs a deal with a cryotherapy company, he will have more stamina and more health points or whatever.

No neutral site non-conference games kinda stinks.

They are in there, you just can't physically create the matchups yourself. All games that have been scheduled in the future will be in there but the computer AI will fill those spots from season to season that haven't been determined already. But when you do custom schedules, you can't assign teams to those games.

Gotta make it authentic… if it’s in the game, it’s in the game.

they played music for like 20 seconds before abruptly turning it off.

In reserving my opinion until Gritz shows up to let me know what I’m supposed to think about all this.

Pretty sure it’s only when the QB lines up behind center.

Most of everything I have read sounds amazing. A wider more realistic player rating scale is what I'm most looking forward to.

Couple things I'm worried about. No player edit. I hope you arevstill able to edit generated recruits to lower player ratings and make them look more realistic.

Also the new passing system sounds like too much going on with meters. I like my screen clean so hopefully we have the option to turn it off and use classic passing.

I’m also looking forward to this. With that said, starting ratings are only half the equation. We need to see what the progression system is like. One thing I love about mlb the show is the potential ratings. You might have an 18 yr old prospect with a 45 rating but if they have an A potential those numbers will shoot up year to year. Low potential players won’t see the same increase. The Show has suffered from these issues before. You either end up with way too many elite players or the opposite.

If progression isn’t balanced properly then a few years into a dynasty could erase all of the benefit of those wide ranges.

I don’t like nor want a Potential rating for players in this game. Progression should be based on playing time, performance, and the coaches’ developmental ratings/skills.

If that was the case some players would never develope. How do you expect backups that just happen to be behind star players most of their career reach upper potential? Also some of us like myself only play 8 or 9 min quarters so that makes it difficult to get some backups enough time to make an impact.

I agree that some of that should factor in but there needs to be a reasonable balance.
