Questions on recruiting. So my first go round in dynasty, my first week of recruiting, i scouted everyone and offered a scholarship to all the recruits that i wanted (most of the ones scouted). I did get one insta-commit, which was nice. But, is this a good strategy or should i hold off on scholarship offers? I'm curious how it impacts a recruit early on, or later, or if it's no different than a pitch. It only costs 5 hours and i think you only get 1 green arrow for scholarship offer.
Additionally, do you try to spread out your hours to all your players, or just go hard on your top 10 and worry about filling in the gaps later?
If i pitch DM (5 pts) and talk to family (10) one week, but then remove that pitch the next, does my chances with that guy take a hit?
Additionally, do you try to spread out your hours to all your players, or just go hard on your top 10 and worry about filling in the gaps later?

quote:idk if there is a difference but in my experience, you want to wrap a recruitment up ASAP. Get your offer out, go all in on the recruit, have him commit before he can take visits

Say you’re on the left hash trying to kick a fg. Line your arrow to the right to be center of the field goal, then you’re going to want the accuracy button to be in line with where your arrow is pointing. Where I fricked up was thinking you always had to have the accuracy button dead center in the green.
This doesn't sound correct. I'm pretty sure teh arrow takes care of direction. The green is so you don't shank the kick. If you are on a hash, you have to move the arrow until your controller stop vibrating. Then the left right slider needs to be on green and your power needs to be appropriate for the kick.
There is a mini game where you kick into hurricane force winds (lol) and that's where i learned about this. Wind also affects the vibration level of your controller. So if you have a wind coming from right to let, the controller won't stop vibrating until you move your kick direction to the right to compensate for wind.

I'm confused. I picked the recruiter archetype for my HC. I had 900 hours to spend on week 1 (after preseason). Are you saying you can switch who is recruiting the player, from HC to OC?
Also, do you give your coordinators skills or just spend your points on your HC?

It’s worked for me lol. I’ve lined my arrow up perfect and timed the accuracy in the green and still missed. I dunno

It would be nice, if EA would provide you with a freaking game controls manual, considering this is a brand new game that hasn't been out in 11 years.

Your buffs stack between you and your coordinators
So if you have something that gives you more 5 hours, and your coordinator has one that gives you 5 hours, you now have 10 extra hours
And no. You don't have any control over those

You have to hold the A/X button down for power. The arrow will fill up, but you hold it too long and you will shank it

The overall gameplay is worth the issues though. And the fact that it’s a college football game lol

Questions on recruiting.
Pretty much what WestCoastAg said.
Scholarship offers to players that remain on your board continue to gain influence whether you spend additional time on them. I fill my board to 35 and offer every single one in the offseason. This takes some luck because if you scout a bunch of busts you waste hours looking for replacements. I went balls to the wall on the recruiting coaching tree so it only takes 20 hr to 100% scout each player (at every position)
Then after that I look for the players I really want or need and max their hours. Send the house (and whatever else you can do) until you find their top pitches, then switch to “hard sell”. You can usually guess the correct hard sell when you have 2 green checks - you can also do it if you have 1 green check and a ton of red (fwiw).
I also comb my board for players I want but don’t want to go all out for them. A lot of times you can let the scholarship influence ride and no one else is recruiting them. Easy way to gain influence without spending hours (yet).
If one of those players starts getting recruited I usually just replace them on my board. You’re not going to keep up with just the scholarship influence so you might as well cut your losses.
The last part is visits - I typically cannibalize the recruits hours to schedule the visit (40 hr) and then re-apply the hours the next week. I have lost some ground on those recruits while doing that though, so be warned that you can be in a healthy lead, schedule a visit, and then be in 2nd place the next week. The alternative is taking 40 hr from another recruit but you’re sure to lose ground there.
Sorry for consecutive long arse posts

ETA: your recruiting hours are tied to your team prestige and whether you have a game that week or not. So, the above is for a high prestige team. You’ll have to be more selective with filling, scouting, and offering with lower prestige teams, but I would likely approach in the same way.

I’ve got that but where do you time the thing that goes left and right? In the center green?

I aim for dead center of the green. I think the arrow is where you want it to go and the dead center green with slightly below red power is the “perfect” kick. I don’t know that’s 100% accurate but that’s my interpretation of the mechanic

Sounds like it’s accurate to RL expectations?

So say you have 40 hours (25, 10, 5 pitches). You remove all the pitches and sub it out for a visit?

Yeah, I don’t know if that’s the best way to do it but that’s what I do.

I figure it’s better than taking those hours away from another recruit and risking losing them.
Forgot to mention earlier, sometimes I go all out for a player then realize I’m the only one recruiting them, so then I reallocate those hours to another player until I can come back to them. It seems like if you jump to a huge early lead the other teams will back off until later in the season. Seems the AI uses a similar approach to what I do to manage their hours.
ETA: just had my first 4* insta-commit in the offseason. Don’t know if that’s a glitch but I’ll take it. I don’t have the insta-commit coach ability.

Anyone else having issues actually playing a game?
Since last night, I’d start a game, then not long after I start the game, the game crashes and a black screen comes up saying there’s an issue with this app, and asks me to send a report on it.
I tried to start 3 games last night only for it to crash after a couple drives, then just now I started a game and right after kickoff it crashed. This is on PS5.

EA servers are down right now
Is anyone else having trouble scheduling visits? I’m in a couple guys’ top three, they have their list narrowed down to their top 5 or 3, and it won’t let let schedule a visit. It says ‘Visits will become available once the recruit has narrowed down to his top five schools’
I’ve missed on a ton of guys because of this

Didn't have any issues on Xbox.

So question about the passing still. I know that blue is what you want, but how do you throw a bullet if the blue meter for that throw distance really only gives you time to tap the button or vice versa? Say I want to lob it over a linebacker but to get the blue meter requires me to hold the button down longer?

Yes. This seems to be a pretty common bug that's happening. I'm in my 2nd dynasty year 2 (I've done 5 years across the two). And it happens every time.
Hopefully the patch will fix this.
