You need potions on almost every encounter for NG+.

What is NG?
When you finish the game. You can start a new game at your current level with your current equipment. Monsters I think scaled to your level.

Looks like a GOTY edition is coming so I will just wait for it.

I'm about to go to the Isle of Mists, looks like this is the end of the game. Can I keep playing after I beat it? Not NG+, I want to get all the ? off the map and I have a few level 30+ witcher contracts to do. I need to do the horse races and fists fights in Skellige too. I haven't started either of the dlcs. Can I still do all this on the same game after I beat it?

You still have a lot of base game left.
Yes you can keep playing. All dlcs, points of interest etc.

I got a message that said I need to save now. I assumed that meant the game was almost over.
Posted on 7/7/16 at 4:16 pm to Brosef Stalin
about 2/3rds over.
if you create a save game before entering, like the message suggests, and when you enter, any quests that fail will notify you. if they are quests you really want to do, just re-load your saved game and paddle away from the isle of mist checkpoint
they will all be quests lvl 25 and under. things like the Dandelion side quest.
you are about to enter a 2-3 hour long quest chain though that cannot be interrupted. its a lot of fun

I hate DLC but damn, Blood & Wine proves me wrong.
I thought the first DLC was a bit too talky talky without enough action but Blood & Wine builds on what the first DLC did right.
The monster AI is far superior to the original game.
Most DLC feels a bit tacked on. This doesn't. Hell, it is longer than most games.
No Rain!!! Awesome!

Must be some bug with the weather. Toussaint is always clear unless I go to another region and then back.
Winning with the skellige deck was a real pain in the arse. Lots of reloads to get the right setup to win.

Yeah, when I was almost done with the game it had occurred to me that there was no rain in Toussaint, while others were complaining about too much rain.
Posted on 7/9/16 at 5:04 pm to ILikeLSUToo
If you jump back to Velen and it is raining, then back to Toussaint, it starts raining in Toussaint.
Once it stops, it doesn't start up if you don't leave.
Game is so damn much more pleasant when it is nice bright sunshine.

I was able to win through first try luckily, despite being royally screwed against the Nilfgard deck guy and not getting any spy cards or the medic card. Took getting a really lucky draw with the 3rd round special nabbing a spy card from the discard for me to win by 1 point. Monster deck, skellige matchups were pretty easy, but last one was tricky.
Kinda lame they don't let you save between matches on that one, do they have autosaves between matches on that quest?
Posted on 7/9/16 at 7:19 pm to auyushu
There is an autosave between rounds.
However it takes place before the long conversations between each round. So it would have been nice to be able to save after all of the conversation.

Do you loot people's houses? Does it piss them off?

How amazing is the Blood and Wine ending though

I think you get a warning if you open a chest that will piss folks off. If you then loot the chest they attack.
So I basically didn't loot anything in sight of people or homes in working villages.
Maybe looted a few spots in conflict of that statement, but all I can think of was the dwarf gwent player.

Played through the ending twice. I had the good for Geralt, bad for the Duchess ending the first time, but I saw that coming. Then I replayed and got the totally happy ending.
I was a bit over leveled for the final fight. I think I finished around level 68 on normal play so the final fight wasn't quite hard enough. Especially considering how Detlaf cut through those soldiers in the assault to free his GF.
