I think this new patch really fricked some shite up. first quest of the College of Winter, the pillars on the first puzzle won't spin at all. They were fine on my other tune before the latest patch. Now on my pure mage toon I'm stuck.

I think the Saarthal pillar bug was randomly-occurring before the latest patch. Saarthal and Labrynthian are two of the most glitch-prone dungeons in the game.

I had a similar puzzle not spinning glitch. Not in Saarthal, but the door in Bleak Falls Barrow. The remedy was to reload or run back to the nearest area entry door, leave and come back. This solved the problem for me, hope it works for you.

I feel the same way. I only played Oblivion for 80 hours. I've already played Skyrim longer and I see no end in sight.

I've been blessed with very few bugs in the 360 version. On the Dark Brotherhood mission "Kill Hern," he was nowhere to be found and I had to reload a much earlier save and play through a lot of stuff again. Now, I save to a new file around every 10th time.

I haven't done a single update yet on the 360 because I haven't had any issues and I've heard so many horror stories about the patches.

Just started playing today and ran into a Giant who raped me twice. I assume I will have to wait until I level up further to kill one of these fuggers or is there a secret?

You can kill them at lower levels by kiting (shooting them with destruction spells or arrows and then running away). Frost magic works the best because it also drains stamina so the giant won't be able to catch up with you. Just make sure you don't piss off any mammoths while you're running around like a bitch.

spoiler?
i read somewhere that mammoths won't cross streams or water, so you can just shoot them from across a river and they won't touch you.

I think that's true also - and there's a giant/mammoth camp just west of Whiterun where you can jump on a rock they can't get to if you feel like exploiting terrain.
ETA: good place to level archery and magic skills, since all most spells require to level up is that you cast them with enemies nearby.

I decided to take on a giant at level 3
needless to say i got raped
My dark elf is up to level 11. Just found the horn of urgen windcaller and started the quests with the chick from riverwood.
I have mainly been duel casting destruction spells and raising dead bodies to fight with me. Ocassionally i'll do some work with the ax of whiterun but I love lighting people on fire

"Take that, and this, and this..............very good."
lulz
ETA: At 4:11.........I nearly wet myself. Had to call in my roommate to see how bad that looked. Seriously, Bethesda?

I don't understand why they make such a pretty game but they can't do certain things like that right.

K. Absolutely the funniest Skyrim video I've seen.
Good find.

You've never seen parts 1 or 2? Look on his channel. 1 is even better than that one imo.
