Downloaded yesterday and finally ready to sink in. Played for about an hour last night and was kinda getting raped but I remain cautiously optimistic.

I could see a strong case for Rape Me. Especially that mean ole fella with the spear I met recently. My one armed wolf has been getting all his holes filled with that thing.

100% the hardest thing to unlearn. It becomes your best friend later on though and still has its place with certain enemy types

I'm having the exact opposite problem...I decided to give Dark Souls III a try after playing Sekiro (I've never played a DS game).

"What do you mean I can't deflect/counter with my sword!?!?!?! And what's this roll shite?!?"

Think I am actually going to pick this up. I like that it seems like it is not really about stat upkeep and looting.

Yep. No grinding or shitty loot system like Nioh

I love that in Sekiro, you can’t grind levels until you’re OP for an area and can shite on the boss. If you want to increase your vitality or attack power, you have to beat bosses and minibosses. It’s like Miyazaki is throwing down the gauntlet and saying “you need to git gud naturally”

Tough to say right now since I’m probably about halfway through. Right now though, I’d say

Dark Souls
Bloodborne
Sekiro
Dark Souls III
Demon’s Souls
Dark Souls II

I know Demon’s seems low, but I played it after the first 2 and it didn’t have the same polish or world design. Many who played it first have it as #1

Sekiro is probably the slowest starting From game (it doesn’t grab you from the outset like Dark and BB) but it just keeps getting better and better.

Carson, you got me on bloodbourne so I'm pumped for this one. I actually didn't get it yet but I figured I will tonight.

I’m really loving the game so far. Gotta say, I think this has the steepest learning curve of any FROM game I’ve played. I’ve only beaten mini bosses so far and it has been a challenge. At this point in Bloodborne I would have already killed the first two bosses probably. Not sure I like it more than Bloodborne, but I’m so early in the game I can’t really compare them yet.

The combat does click eventually. I suggest practicing at the Temple if you find yourself getting wrecked too often.

The real question is when is the worlds first no hit run gonna be?

The speed runners are eventually gonna tear this thing a new butthole with the movement and stealth mechanics.

the world just isn't as cool as BB's. feudal japan is kinda meh for me, but you get some cooler environments later on and things start to change. BB's victorian gothic setting was just so cool and you could cut the tension and atmosphere with a butter knife. once it got into the cosmic horror shite i was full-on in love.

I'm about 30hr in and I've only fought 4 of the "main" bosses. I think shite is about to get serious, I'm so excited.

Just beat horseback guy on the second attempt and that was really the first time I felt the combat kind of click. Was deflecting and grappling like a mother fricker.

Interesting ranking...I'll keep my eye on it and may grab it during a sale down the road.
