Don't desktop computers stay on all the time and run just fine? As for the speaking to the xbox anyone can say xbox on or off.

The Xbox can be set on TV and the regular cable remote can be used. Found that out today on accident.

you have some really weird complaints about features that pretty much everyone else loves. i think you're stretching to have complaints personally and see thru your post.

you should've looked harder for a PS4, because believe me they are out there in every major city in every state.

just return the box so some kid more deserving and appreciative kid can have it for Christmas. Ain't no one adding your GT.

Is it? I haven't had any issues, but then, I don't have any EA games.

sigh. BF is hot mess desperately in need of a patch.

- green, blue, red haze / loss of focus every 10 seconds
- randomly freezing up
- randomly kicking you from games
- randomly deciding to not let you join matches even with plenty of open spots.
- people falling thru the maps

fun as frick with a bunch of friends online, but man does it need a patch something fierce.

It will listen if someone else says Xbox off, but it doesn't turn off instantaneously. A window pops up asking if you really want to turn it off, and you just say yes or no.

So you can just say no as soon as you hear some say Xbox off and it won't respond.

You can also say "Xbox stop listening" and you Xbox won't respond to voice commands until you go back to the home screen

Been messing with the TV stuff, kind of annoying that the xbox has to be on to watch TV. Probably going to abandon it

The SO is on the verge of making me abandon the xbone TV integration.

I have a running list of things I would improve/change for the xbone. Regarding TV, The xbone would benefit from a couple of things.

A remote with just some basic simple functions. I don't mind using the controller when I need to, but the SO thinks its goofy and doesn't want to always use voice to power on, off, select an app etc.

Ability to set it to open a particular app when you turn on the xbone. Again the SO doesn't like the fact that after turning it on, she has to select the TV app, an extra step from previously. It would nice if you could just have the TV app open on start up.

I think the xbone is a little ahead of it's time with the kinect/tv integration. In 10 years I really think that the features it is bringing will be the new norm. With that said, my gf would be lost if I made her go through the xbone to watch tv.

Played COD all weekend and it ran flawlessly. This game definitely pisses me off with they way they designed the game basically to equalize talent by making it impossible to find suitable cover. I went 52-11 one match and the very next game 25-23.

I officially love/hate Ghosts

ETA: on a separate issue, how the frick does BF screw up their biggest chance to overtake COD with such a shitty launch. Somebody should be fired.

Dude.

Join the BF4 pain train. We have a solid group playing and will be playing going forward.

Me, FadetoJeff, CajunAchilles, Team Brennan, DMB, Corndog, JMurdah, Birdman, Sidbarret, Murdoc, SWOSU, BR Pig, and others.

I was all about COD and refused BF anything for years, but after BO2 I couldn't go back. Sid said the same, no way he'd play BF4 with Ghost being out. He's now loving BF4.

it's time. We get 10 new maps during December.

it's still fun as fack.....when it works or you aren't kicked. makes it worth it.

But.... 1 patch fixing most of the issues and they'd have the momentum to finish off COD and it'd just be up to them to add awesome DLC going forward.

Wife was pretty against having to use the xbox to watch tv.

My wife likes it because she doesn't have to figure out which of the 3 remotes she needs to use for a given function. (Receiver, cable box, tv). She just tells the xbox what she wants and it does it. She usually hates any new technology.

I will most likely buy it, most of my friends are playing it versus Ghosts which sucks bc I actually like Ghosts.

Regardless, I will be on Titanfall like white on rice come March.

What is so weird or difficult about saying "Xbox On" then "Xbox Watch TV"

You can still use the TV remote to control everything once into the TV app.

If you find hunting down apps too difficult just pin them to your home page. You scroll once to left and there they all are. You and your SO can have completely different pins setup.

Agreed...I played some BF4 on XBone this past weekend at Sids house. Great game, I didn't find it as "Sluggish" as I have in the past. When I sell my house and have some extra income I will be getting BF4 over ghosts.

oh, and great console too, tons of cool shite. I just hope you guys are a little more kind to your xbone. He treats and talks to his like a $10 whore. He is a verbally abusive SOB! :

1. My SO hates change

2. If I wake up at 4am or she wakes up earlier than me, I would prefer to not use voice commands(that you can't really whisper) just to watch TV.

Again it's not that apps are difficult to find or that using voice and/or controller is difficult for me.

But MS is trying to find a place as an entertainment hub in living rooms which means interacting with the non-gamer. There's nothing wrong with wanting more control in how the xbone operates to make it easier to use for all the people in your household.

I shouldnt have to work around the current limitations and just deal with it.
