are you talking 50+ yards away from the hole, or are you talking chipping, or around the green?

mainly 50+ from the hole. My green chipping could always use work, but i've been doing pretty well as of late

ok..the only thing i can tell you is about chipping..im pretty good at that..but i cant help you with the 50+ yard..
the best advice i ever got about chipping was when you are around the green, kinda open your stance, and only use a putting stroke when chipping...it may not help you, but it helped me a ton..
oh and daquan bowers was on first take talking about his guitar..they ask him about how it got a name, and how old is the guitar..he said 33. then they asked him what kind of guitar is it..he said a 1964 something..now im no math major, but if its made in 1964, then i would think its older than 33..

when i luck out and actually get close enough to chip, that's what i was told too. To use a putting stroke. I just have to get the feel of how hard to stroke it(hehe)

chipping requires finesse, feel, and aggressive play
for a standard chip you want to play at the ball aggressively. never decelerate.
chipping also requires a lot of practice to get used to the feel of the club so you can manipulate it better and predict how the ball will react.
anyone can take a full swing with any club. but chipping requires a shorter stroke and finesse accuracy when striking the ball.
i recommend you open your stance a little, start close to the green using a putter like stroke. its ok to bend your wrist some, but don't over do it. and always accelerate through the ball.
for close up chips put the ball in the back of your stance. as you get further away from the green push the ball up in your stance. however never go further than the middle of your stance.
* pros use irons for bump and run. i elect to use a 60 degree wedge for everything because im so used to the feel of the club.
once you've gotten a good feel of the club, know how the ball comes off the face, and can practically predict the flight and distance of roll. then you can start popping your wrist, using deceleration, moving the ball in your stance where you like, etc.
everyone chips different. so go with what your comfortable with. but always accelerate through the ball. also practicing chipping is usually free and much more entertaining than practicing putting.

The worst thing about chipping is not hitting through the ball. Too many times I'll stop short thinking I'm gonna hit it to hard and then wind up flubbing it. Just take an easy stroke and let the club do the work. It's not going to be perfect at first, but you'll get a feel for it quickly.

people use the word chipping too much
a chip is a specific type of shot which many people don't even use
i'd say more people pitch than anything
if i were to chip a shot, it would be with no less than a PW, but i typically choose to pitch with my 56
i've been terrible as of late of hitting behind the ball or blading it, i can't seem to get the club to bounce anymore and softly throw the ball forward
i used to be great at it and its annoying the frick out of me as of late
