AR best I can explain it, when it is off your pokemon show up in a cartoon world and they are more stable. When it is on, they show up in the real world what you camera can see and they jump more.

Yes. Attach a lure to the white capsule above the pokestop logo that you spin
AR is using the camera on your phone when capturing. Turning it off makes them easier to capture but a lot of ppl report freezing

The pokestop logo is an armadillo holding a beer. Was that left over from the previous restaurant? I noticed not all pokestops have updated landmarks
Hope the bar is close enough to that armadillo. You can hit it from the parking lot

Damn son. I live in a very rural area with large areas with zero cell reception so not many Pokemon or anything really to speak of. Still having fun though and am enjoying the nostalgia. My wife not so much
ETA:
I am an avid backpacker/paddler/hunter and spend many days deep in the backcountry. They need to release downloadable, pre programmed areas that don't receive cell reception. I would give my left nut to catch a Pokemon on the summit of some mountain out in the middle of no where or a gyrados before paddling a class 3

It takes me a minimum of 20-30 minutes to do anything when I leave the house because I have to hit the pokestops.
Simple ride to get milk around the block? 20 minutes.
Go to the store to get toothpaste around the corner? 30 minutes.
The wife is starting the get pissed.

So I'm walking around, and I come across a Pikachu. Just as I'm about to try and catch the mother fricker, a fricking egg with Caterpee in it hatches. When I return, he's gone. frick!!!!
