XS limits their cp and/or hp cap while XL increases it.
an XL can turn into an XS after evo

Does anyone know if you have a better chance to get a stronger or more rare pokemon if you are a highler level when you incubate the egg? Basically, I'm asking if I should go ahead and hatch all eggs as soon as I can or save them until I level up.

The only thing I know for sure is that the higher the distance, the better the pokemon that'll hatch. If you have a 2km egg, you're going to end up with an average pokemon. So go ahead and hatch the 2km ones now since they give you candy and stardust and experience.

Pidgey leveling is gonna break the game quick if there isn't a low enough level cap. People will have monster Pokemon very quick by getting high level just from catching 130 pidgey, turn 90 into candy and using a lucky egg to evolve 40 at once. That is 53000XP without catch bonuses and farming balls.
Walmart parking lots tend to have never ending pidgeys.
Save your candy and do your evolutions on good creatures once you hit level cap. You will spend way too much candy trying to keep good Pokemon good through leveling.

There's a cap as to how much candy you an feed them I thought?
My hitmonchan won't upgrade anymore. (It takes 1800 stardust and 2 candies at this point).
I have the requirements but it won't max him anymore...

When I evolved XL pokemons, they turned into XS's. When I evolved an XS pokemon, I got an XL.
I also noticed that when you powerup a pokemon before evolving it, you get higher CP... but you also start off on the evolved form at a higher level (I'm not sure if there's actual terminology for this), so it costs more to level up the evolved pokemon. If you don't powerup the pokemon and evolve it, it costs less to powerup the evolved form, and the CP gains seem to be greater. In the end, I think it evens out to where it doesn't matter when you powerup the pokemon, before or after evolving them.

So it was a bad day for server issues for me. Couldn't even make proper use of lures and incense all day.
Decided to just walk for hatching as I have a 2, 5, & 10 cooking... Then this bad boy shows up!

Seems like a bug that xl turns into xs and Visa versa. I've noticed that too
For now I guess evo your XS pokes. I wonder if moveset carry over. I'm about to use 50 candy's to evo pidgeotto so I can check.

Has anyone had any luck attacking a rival gym? I've tried four different gyms, and I've gotten the 1hp bug at all of them. I found a gym defended by a 10cp jigglypuff and and a 12cp rat, and figured it would be easy pickings... I went through six 200+ cp pokemon because of the stupid glitch.

They need to fix this gym nonsense for the game to takeoff.
