The Pokemon fans will keep playing, but the popularity it has now will decline fast. All these moms will tire of driving their kids all over town and these fat asses that some how managed to get themselves out of the house will all quit playing in the near future. Especially when they hit the grind levels. Ball usage goes up drastically past 25 and everything just runs away. casuals will get over it. The game will keep going without them though, ingress has done fine with its incredibly less population.

That's badass. If they don't bring that back...I might not play. It makes hunting pretty much impossible. You are pretty much out there now blindfolded just hoping something crazy spawns in.
Because even if something shows up on your nearby Pokemon like a Tauros or Snorlax...there's probably 0 chance you find it.

I had an unfound show up in nearby today. I worked the neighborhood it was in with it being nearest and never found it. Left the neighborhood and got on the interstate and three miles down the interstate it was still in the top 3.

I like to imagine the Niantic team being the exact opposite of the Pied Piper team. Their version of Gilfoyle looks at the user count going into the millions and then glances over to their server bay and deadpans "We're fricked."
