Yeah, that's what they need. Another full budget remake to announce.
I think the next big FF announcement we'll get is Final Fantasy XVI. I think it'll be announced at E3 next year.
As far as the Direct, I'm interested to see how in-depth Town is. Will watch that one. I don't care about life sim games, so I don't have any interest in Animal Crossing. Happy for those who care about it. Has a solid hardcore fanbase.

I think Geno and Waluigi need to happen and would fit in well. I think Dixie Kong could be a mirror of Diddy Kong, and Funky Kong would fit in well as his own character. Not sure I see a reason to include Cranky as anything more than an assist or trophy.

No real work has been done to it. The only version that you can buy is the PS1 classic on PS3/PSP/Vita or the original PC port that was done in 1999. They haven't touched it since.

This has nothing to do with 8. They are just releasing all the games that already had been re-released from the main series. Plus those side FF games.
FF 7, 9, 10, 10-2, 12 have already been re-released. 8 would be a new project for them. They aren't announcing a new project, just switch getting things other consoles already have. Per the norm.

Can't wait. Tried to play the download last night but it still wasn't there. I'm in on it this weekend.
XC2 has become a top 5 RPG after the DLC, and Torna looks to make it even better. It's better than XC1 now.

I know I'm in the distinct minority, but I think 9 is one of the worst in the series.
ETA: But I'm trying to play through 15 right now and it's definitely not impressive either.
