I haven't played a basketball ball game in maybe close to a decade, but this game is legit.
Sure it has it's nuances which can be annoying, such as going to set a screen for Justice, having him make a three foot pass just before you press B to screen, so you subsequent make an errant bounce pass for a turnover. These things, however, feel very rare.
Plus as people have mentioned, the storyline in MyCareer is great. The going to the gym every day is a bit of a grind, but it's beneficial for someone like me who's never played a 2K basketball game. It has certainly helped with perfecting my form on the R-stick.

I was drafted 9th by the Raptors. I'm a SG, so I'm not starting over Lowry or DeRozan anytime soon, but I'm beginning to get tons of minutes off the bench.
I set the quarter length to 12 minutes since I'm not playing the whole time; this allows me to maximize my stats. It makes each game about 20 minutes or so, but it's worth it for the stats. I just scored my first couple of 20+ point games. Feels really good since I was only scoring ~5 per game for while.
I'm playing on the default difficulty level (Pro, I think?). Our team is ridiculously good, we're like 15-2 or so. Perhaps I should bump up the difficulty?

For those of you who play MyPark and are thinking of Pro-Am or The Stage (Ante-Up), don't forget to hit the gym up inside the team practice facility. That blue bar that fills up needs to be filled every practice. Once you fill up that blue bar, it then transfers over to the gold bar. That gold bar is an additional Attribute upgrade point that you can assign to your player. It takes roughly 120 practices to get your player completely maxed out for Attribute purposes.
Then use the games to work on the badges that fit to your play style. Remember that your tendencies you gather while in-game transfer over to MyPark. So if you are just jacking up 3 point shots and missing in real games, you can reasonably expect to not shoot 3's well at MyPark and vice versa.

Depends on what you play. If you are just playing MyCareer with no intention of going to MyPark or Pro-Am then you could probably bump the difficulty up to give yourself more of a challenge. Most of the people that play MyPlayer usually keep it at default or drop it to rookie to work on badges to help their game online.

If you are enjoying the gameplay now, i wouldn't bump it up. To me it isn't that much more difficult for my player to get stats from one difficulty to the other, but rather for my team to win. I swear when we play a good team, they shoot 80% from the 3 point line and we just can't keep up. Maybe wait til your player is maxed out and in your 2nd year before bumping up the difficulty. Use this as an opportunity to grind for badges.

My dude's garbage. But I haven't been able to play much because everyday is a 12-13 hour day now

Yeah, I doubt I'll venture online for this game. I enjoy playing MyCareer.
I suppose I'll bump it up and see what happens. My team has been winning games by 20-30+ points recently, and we shouldn't since we have 5 rookies who play regular minutes.

This is what I do. I like to start off on Rookie so I can get all of the badges and endorsement deals pretty quickly. Plus, I can get VC by hitting a bunch of milestones early. I usually bump it up after the first season. I also think it's fun to dominate and get triple doubles, even though I know I suck lol

My Xbox gamertag is "LSU STTDB" in case anyone wants to play. I usually play from around 8:30-9:30 at night.

Perfect. I'll add you as well and invite you to the team. I get paid tomorrow so I might drop some money on VC. Just to help us level the club up to pro rank. I want them custom uniforms, logos and arenas

Gamertag is cskillzz92 I have a team I play with but will play with you all as well. Its easy to leave a roster and etc. 6'10 sharpshooter so I can play the three and four.

I have no idea how to play this mode so this will be interesting. I'll look for the invite.

One quick way I figured out how to do this is to just go gold the vertical jump twice. It is really easy and you only have to jump 3 times to do it. You are risking not getting the occasional attribute boost from the other drills though.
I chose to workout with the team's trainer so I don't get

How is the freedom of movement this year? In the past I've felt like I get stuck to my defender when either dribbling or going for a rebound.
Been really frustrating so far. Off ball when I'm trying to get open I'm always getting stuck on the defenders. I miss being able to make cuts with the right analog stick.

What is with the cut scene before the game of your guy warming up? Can you actually control him and shoot around or no? Everytime it snaps to it I immediately try to shoot with him and it goes away.

If you are talking about the +1's for stamina, shot IQ, free throw shot, etc that you occasionally earn during practices? Because I've been reading online that those aren't permanent and go away after your next game. Essentially, unless EA patches it....working for those is pointless.
Which is pretty frustrating because that's the only way you can increase your stamina and free throw ratings which are critical in MyPlayer.

Nothing. Just shows you warming up while the announcers and David Aldridge talk. I skip it immediately

Oh wow. Yeah I guess I'm gonna keep just doing the vertical then.
So myplayer was hungover for his first road game in LA

I'm twenty games in my rookie season and Justice is 90 overall right now. The last few games he has constantly put up 30 and 10. I thought Justice was gonna be my Robin but he has turned into maybe the best pg in the game.

I am still debating a low post scorer 4 or a stretch 4, seems like everyone goes with bombing 3's, so maybe a low post banger would be a nice change of pace online.
