He is very much middle of the pack. He's a good teamfighter but his laning phase is garbage.

It is. Objectively and statistically. You can hang your hat on "that one time he solokilled Huni", but that doesn't mean anything. He's constantly down in cs and consistently dies to ganks. The original plan this offseason was to sign a new top and send BB to Academy, but yeah sure he's a great top laner.
He was ahead in cs @15 minutes less than half the games he played last split and averaged a whopping 0.3 cs lead @15.
Compare that to Huni who was ahead 66% of the time and averaged a 6.6 cs lead @15. But hey, BB killed Huni that one time.
At absolute best he was the 4th best top laner in the league which, in a league of 10 teams, is middle of the pack. And even saying that he was 4th best is a stretch. Players, coaches, and analysts agree, as he was completely left off any of the 3 all-pro teams.

Summer split doesn't count for much. Everybody on the team struggled. Even Bjerg looked weak. BB in spring finals almost solo won the series and took MVP. He has giant growth that he can accomplish and it wouldn't surprise me if he ended up as the best top in NA
