I don't know about that, but I've definitely missed a few bans because I was looking at something else on my other monitor. Wish they'd have a distinctive "your turn" notification like in the current client.

They do. It beeps deeply when you have 10 seconds remaining

On a side note I've been spamming Jhin while he's free. I won't say he's mindless, but he's so strong it's almost unfair. Wish I had learned him sooner.

Yeah, they really need something distinctive.
2nd time in as many days I was looking at my other monitor and had no idea it was my turn to pick.
I never had that problem with the old client.

At least I can take solace in knowing WildTurtle isn't our adc when the split starts.

That was ugly, good thing no one gives a frick about IEM Oakland.
I mod for Dom and he was duoing with Bjerg a few nights before they left for Oakland and Bjerg was telling him how awful he is right now and how little they prepped for IEM because no one gives a shite about it.

Apparently TSM didn't even practice except for like 3 days before it started.

3rd time missing my pick. There literally is no alert other than the super quiet ticking of the last 10 seconds of your pick/ban, which I never hear.
They need to fix this. I'm not going to stare at my screen for the entire pick/ban phase.

They need to fix the champions being ridiculously loud when they get banned too. I nearly kicked a hole in my wall when someone banned Sona once. Sounded like a piano falling down a flight of stairs.

Riot to sell LCS streaming rights to MLBAM for 200 million over next 2 years.
Riot is leaving Twitch and joining traditional sports with a pay model similar to MLB At Bat, or NFL Sunday Ticket.
Smart move, Twitch has been holding LCS back for years. Riot needs to have it's own singular stream that everyone watches and truly capitalize on that ridiculous revenue they just piss away on Twitch currently. MLBAM is the goat for it too.

So we're going to have to pay to watch pro league? If so, frick that.

Honestly, it will suck having to pay for it (if that's the case). But considering how much I enjoy it, I may cave depending on how much it is.
If the pricing is comparable to NFL Sunday Ticket, then Riot can go frick themselves.

I think only offering a pay to watch plan will kill the viewing numbers. I feel like hooking up with a network (like Counterstrike did with TNT or TBS) would lead to more viewers and eventually a larger payout.

It would most definitely.
People are already dropping ridiculous amounts of money into the game itself.
I MIGHT pay $10 for a season pass to watch the splits, but I'm not going to pay cable television type numbers for it.
If RIOT goes the way of pay to watch, it will back fire badly.

Idk, I think as it stands currently for Riot it is a flat out retarded business model pissing away absolute TONS of money for nothing right now by letting the game be broadcast anywhere for free.
Copying a pro sports model is definitely the way to go, and agreeing to a deal with MLBAM who makes and produces the live streaming for MLB At Bat, NHL Gamecenter, HBO GO, WWE, etc, is very very smart.
Just the additional revenue from ads/commercials alone versus free on Twitch with no commercials at all will be tons of money.
I think there is a bigger deal for television if all goes well for these 2 years as well, as MLBAM is owned by Disney and has other major investors including TURNER/TBS. Door is wide open for TV within 2-3 years, and then you'll have the proven infrastructure of an online model and app with live streaming available just like pro sports.
Just keep the sub amount similar to a Twitch sub, $5, and more than enough people would pay it to watch LCS and international events that when you combine that with the new revenue generated they come out way ahead where it matters: money. That additional revenue goes to teams/orgs too, and solves a large problem when it comes to money from revenue within LoL.
37m people watched the last Super Bowl, a 30 second ad average cost was 1.5m. 30m watched the last Worlds final, there are no ads. As a business model, yikes. And people wonder why teams have complained and pleaded to generate more revenue and push forward into legit money for the whole scene.

I mean, if they are making THAT much money on advertisements and such, is it really worth risking viewers over a $5 sub?
