You would think so, but I main support and you wouldn't believe how many people can't follow up on some plays.
Overall the ranking system is complete shite right now. Having both MMR and the league ranking system doesn't make sense.

Logically, yes.
In practice, no.
If you win a lot at your rank, you will play higher ranks. The system in place makes it hard to advance no matter what level you're playing at. The more you win, the higher ranked people you play. You don't just play people within your own ranks. If it were a flat system, I would agree with you. But just in our 5s, the last game we played we had a plat II, and all other pplayers on the team were gold, all higher than us. We got those people because we won 6 in a row, and as we won, we got progressively harder teams.. even though we're still in Silver I.

to be fair most of those champs are ez pz for akali with the exception of udyr
and yeah, I was being put against mid-high golds in my bronze 1 promotion matches. tough games.

Ranked 5s is completely different than the solo queue. Ranked 5s just work based on team mmr as a complete team. So if that team with a plat has the same team mmr thats who you play. Solo queue works i get diamonds all the time on my gold account. its not usual for me to be the only gold in the game.

that's pretty much the only problem I have seen is silver one type players unable to carry to silver 1. it's possible to do but it takes a long time for them to do it

I just bought Kassadin, and he has to be the easiest champ in the world to play.
Step 1: Play passive until lvl 6
Step 2: ????
Step 3: Profit
Once you hit lvl 6, then there is no mid caster that can really touch you. You can get your entire combo off on them before they can touch their keyboard. It's beautiful. I don't know why he doesn't get played more.
