Same. I had a lvl 15 character that was deleted. Created a new one, got to level 9 or so and it got deleted and replaced with a bald half breed thing. So this is my third character and I'm back to 8 or 9.
I still see rockstar warnings saying they are looking for a fix which has me worried it may happen again

I understand it from Rockstar's point of view, though. It would strongly lessen the value of the money you earn since the nicer vehicles are one of the few things you can buy with that money, and it's more rewarding to earn that 6-figure car instead of just stealing it at level 1.
