about the only thing I can add to klarks review is that there needs to be a crew up option or a way to go into a server as a "team."

too many times last night I was trying to find klark or JC and by the time I finally get to them they either died or had three plus stars on them.

cops have no remorse. and will literally chase you anywhere. at one point me and JC were in the hills shooting at three helos and swat rappelling from said helos. it didn't go well.

and the game doesn't differentiate between friend or foe. I followed klark into a robbery and tried to scare the clerk by shooting by shooting at him, turns out I buttstocked klark and killed him. so that blows.

as far as the servers go I'm playing from Cali, it was 9 pm here so I'm assuming the reason why I didn't have any lag or trouble logging in was because the majority of traffic was gone.

other than that causing chaos with three members was awesome. I can't imagine what 8 plus TDGB guys would play like.

Hey y'all!

I never come on this board - not a gamer - but I have a question for y'all.

My 15 year old son is DYING to buy GTA V. A bunch of his friends have it. He's a good kid - makes good grades, doesn't get in trouble, plays football, yadda yadda yadda.

Should I let him get it or is it too mature for a 15 year old?

I don't want to be "that lady" but I've heard that there is a lot of drug stuff and sexual stuff in the game and it just concerns me.

Everyone posting in here seems to be well adjusted normal folks , so your opinions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

When I was around 12 years old the first GTA game came out. My parents wouldn't buy it for me. As my dad waited outside EB Games in the mall, I got someone in the store to buy it for me and I shoved it in my pants and walked out.

If your son is determined enough, he will get this game. The fact that he hasn't says a lot about the respect he has for you. If he acts like a mature adult, then you should treat him like a mature adult and allow him to indulge in adult entertainment.

Rant Warning
Raising a child to be a well adjusted, mentally healthy adult has nothing to do with what games they played as a child, and everything to do with the parent and the example they set through their actions with others and their children.

The most fun I had in gaming came through GTA 5 online.

I was in a lobby with 5 other people, they chose some scenario. Next thing I know I'm with two other guys at the Airforce base (outside of it) and there are three motorcycles in front of us. We jump on the cycles and a waypoint pops up. We start heading that way and next thing we know the other three players are in jets flying around us trying to blow our shite up. fricking awesome.

Absolutely not. There is way more than what you just explained. The game revolves around murder, sex, drugs, and bad language. There are parts where you can literally get a naked strip dance and the word frick is used around 10k times, I counted. This is not the kind of stuff you should be buying your 15 year old son.

IMHO

I love the amount of gameplay available. I just checked and am 23 hours in only 53% through. That's just single player.

Tried to snap a photo of some freakish female bodybuilders on Vespucci beach.

They didn't appreciate it and soon I had a mob of four massive muscled up women trying to beat me up.

Took em all out with a knife.

Anyone else notice the checklist doesn't seem accurate on single player?

by the time i was 15...I was not only playing GTA, but was making weekly trips to the principles office, had my first beer, had smoked a cigarette, and been in daily lockeroom fights. But my Dad also whipped the shite out of me on a regular basis, gave me daily/weekly chores, and i was super respectful to adults.

It's all on the parenting....
