Yeah, that's why I think either he killed them or he didn't get there in time because I've seen nukes hit settlers / provisioners without killing them when the same nuke would kill me.
If you don't show up for the defense, then they can die and your settlement can get beat to crap.
I haven't missed any attacks since I picked up the better defense warning mod.

I'm only lvl 23 which is why defense #'s are so low. 2nd playthru (king of).
But yeah, I've dead settlers and/or traveling caravan defenders when I show up late or midway thru the battle. I guess I could be killing them when using explosives or explosive rounds
I just don't get why they don't hide or defend the settlements instead of running out of the gates or walls I have built. Makes 0 sense

I showed up at one under attack. I thought it would be easy, just a couple of super mutants. One is launching missiles so I decide to flank him. Next thing you know I have some legendary flying creature attacking me too. Then a legendary mutant shows up.

Not sure I have ever used a grenade or cocktail.
quote:Not only will they run out of the settlement but if they keep getting within range of other enemies, they can get pretty damn far away from the settlement. I had some Finch people wandering about a mile from the settlement because they got attacked by raiders, then got attacked by ironworks folks, then the gunners on the overpass attacked so they kept getting further and further away.

Not to mention the Super Mutants across the way at the satellites that always lures them away.
Every. Single. Time. Never fails.
fricking Jake keeps dying each time there's an attack on Finch Farm. Other than him, I don't recall any other settlers ever taking a dirt nap (unless they were synths).

GD Mole Rats!
So I finally hit Vault 81 to do the mole rate cure quest. I wanted to make sure I was more than strong enough to one shot the mole rats so I didn't get the stupid mole rat fever.
The mole rats didn't touch me. I got the fever anyway.
It appears that if the mole rats hit your companion. You get the fever. WTF!
Only a 10 point HP hit but it still pisses me off in a OCD sort of way.

I do not know that quest

I stumbled upon vault 81 last night. Wasn't able to get in, though.

Once you are done with the main story line, I had to "Defend Castle" and its like a war with the synths. There are so many of those frickers and it seems some of them regenerate health when you are past 60% of defending the castle.
Is there going to be quests where you discover new places? I feel like I keep getting the same shite over and over.

No. If you are done, then you are done. You can do repeatable quests forever, but the only change once done is you get the defense quests along with the standard settlement defense.

How much longer do I have if I just built the molecular ray?
Posted on 2/22/16 at 2:00 pm to Mr Gardoki
A good bit. You still have a ways to go before you are forced into hating everyone else.

You said you are going to beta test Survival Mode. How is that going to unfold?
That’s going to be something different than we usually do. Survival mode has a lot of changes that can be pretty dramatic. Once we get it honed where it’s working well enough, we’re going to put it on Steam beta for a while. ‘Here it is. Start playing it. Give us feedback.’ It’s far easier to update and iterate on [PC]. Once we settle on it, then we’ll release it for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. We want to get it up soon on Steam beta. It’s not going to be months and months off. If it’s not really working, and we need to iterate on it, it may stay in beta for a month, depending on what we are changing. But we want to make it have the game feel different. The bits we’ve done, and me recently playing it, it’s absolutely some of the most fun I’ve had playing Fallout. I mean that honestly. It changes it in a good way for me, but it might not for everybody.
We’re doing things like you can’t save, it only saves your game when you sleep. You can’t fast travel. There’re all of these diseases. We’re trying it all. It’s a different experience. We’re not trying to make it a ton harder. It’s harder because you’re doing more things. We want the combat to feel different, as opposed to just being a bullet sponge.
When can we expect to see mods, especially on console side?
Our goal is between the first two DLCs. It’ll go up at that time on PC. In April. All of that stuff will go up on PC. People are beta testing it. There’ll be a lag on consoles. We want to get it up on PC and have it work. It’ll probably be a good month before it hits Xbox One, and another month for PlayStation 4.

shite... it'd be nice for them to focus on fixing all the damn game changing bugs before releasing any DLCs, mods, etc.
Posted on 2/23/16 at 11:09 am to BradPitt
What bugs? They haven't been that bad this time around for most people.

Have a question. Saw a post on reddit
How do you get more options when building a settlement? I already have Local Leader perk at 2 but the way that person built the Red Rocket town is ridiculous. I want to try and mix in some of the cleanliness of the Institute in my settlement buildings. Maybe that isn't an option at the moment for PS4.

Probably on PC using mods.

PC mods.
There is a mod called Spring Cleaning which allows you to scrap additional junk and sometimes entire buildings.
With Spring Cleaning, I can junk all of the beat up houses in Sanctuary.
There are a couple of better settlement mods that add 1000s of additional items you can build including trees and green grass. I haven't messed with these yet.I was going to wait until I'm done with all of the settlements, then build Spectacle with the super settlement mods.

Anyone going to buy the DLC for $29.99 for the consoles? Would it be worth it?
