Ok I am on "wicked eyes wicked hearts" on my 3rd play through with about 60 hours in I have done everything I have found in all the zones except the astrariums, mosaics pieces, and some of the map pictures you find. All dragons dead, all shards collected and resists are fully upgraded in the oasis. Here are a few pics.

I got to play for a bit earlier. What are inquisition perks? Is that the purpose of the war table?

Read through them, when you get enough influence you can buy a perk. Open locked doors, expanded inventory, and expanded potions the first ones I go for. After you get Skyhold and complete Sera's personal quest you get a vendor in Skyhold that will about 9K gold you can exploit and get all 20 levels of influence in about 10 minutes if you so choose.

i just tried the abyssal dragon out to show my buddy, fully expecting to get my arse kicked

On normal, things are going to get real easy towards the end. Especially if you do most or all of the side quests.
I went ahead and did all of the dragons on nightmare. On hard, I had to gear up with resistance gear.
I was too lazy to do that and I was still able to kill all of them.
Hissing Waste was the hardest. 3rd Emprise was also a pain. Was just about out of potions for both.
I've been rolling with Black, Bull and Viv. Swapped Cassandra out for Blackie.

Which one did you miss. The one closest to the fast travel stone is the hardest dragon.

I'm not sure. I killed the one on the right when you first cross the bridge that's at the top floor of the arena and the one that's in that pit.

No clue. Every time I leave that area the shroud covers most of that part of the map back up for some reason. I guess I always took the same route and I couldn't tell if I explored all of it.

Hmm, with Viv, Sera (with daggers), Cass, and my rift mage on hard hissing wastes dragon was pretty much a joke and dead super fast for me, funny how much different setups can change things.
Of course I was using a high level frost staff and superb dragon runes on everyone, so that makes a huge difference too. I found the Emprise ones to take the longest, just due to them all flying around so much.
Though I'm doing a rogue playthrough this time and I imagine the dragons will be much tougher.
